depends on the weapon. ignore the damage potential stat and look at DPS by hovering over your weapon (damage potential is super misleading and not meaningful, it is an arbitrary sum that considers all installed weapons and tech even tho tech only affects a single weapon). for example infraknife, its pretty easy to get at least 30k dps and that'll shred sentinel and pirate freighters already, and it can get up to over 120k on an absolutely crazy ship
