It is something you are able to do from the start of the game.. no power up required. I got it to half ass work once... As in I wall jumped but only enough for the animation to happen then I fell back down... Have not been able to make it happen again... This was just a few seconds ago...

There were a few he's at the time that had a wall jump ability... And it was hold d pad towards the wall when you touch the wall you jump... This one... You have to "spin jump" to the wall once touching it push d pad away from the wall and before the animation changes back to normal hit the jump button.... The animation only changes for about half a second maybe less... And the "controller lag" from the SNES apparently carried over into the emulator... So I'm fighting that too...
