Hi @mint spear , sorry you're having issues. But in regards to your "slow generation" problem, I think the answer is that.... that's just how the game is normally. I just booted up my game and compared it to your video. It's roughly the same. I have objects and such loading right around me.

It varies with battery type too, and in some instances is more of a long term effect kind of thing. So if you keep it for several years and handle it that way consistently, you may eventually notice it doesn't hold a charge as long as it used to.
Handled differently, it may hold a charge well for much longer.

modifying your own planets is a fun thing to do
you can't control everything but most of everything. it's pretty fun and makes me hope that kind of system could be implemented into the atlas path ending

it really puts how complicated it is to cram all of this into a full fledged game in perspective. this is just an engine with some elements of minor gameplay, but imagine No Man's Sky scale stuff on an engine as this. as cool as it would be, it's near impossible because of the amount of resources it can take up with how it looks now. if you had to change this to accommodate gameplay, you'd get lower LOD like on what we have with NMS today. so it makes sense why NMS can never be this way, but it doesn't mean they can't improve elements like this
since they're obviously trying to accommodate for the PS4 users as well, something like this could render it nearly dead with just one planet having more level of detail. they kinda have to balance it out, though they should make a setting for it on PC so we could max it out if we wanted to

that still doesn't make anything null though. an animal in real life has things it needs to do on top of fooling around. in no man's sky, they just run around without much of anything going on in their life at all. in the holy early trailers, they felt in general more attached to the landscape, since they'd travel in more defined and direct herds, interact with the environment more, that kind of thing. it felt more in tandem with what they should be doing... as animals. follow one around enough in the game right now and the best you'd get is one of them attacking another, which is a little too rare
plus the trailers had them in places that are impossible right now
in general, animals just need more of a goal. having that is something that could prove to be immersive, if done right. fooling around is fine and dandy, but it shouldn't be all of what it does.

I don't see an issue with the interactivity between dead bodies and nearby animals, as that isn't really impossible. same with some of the others. the only one I can see a small issue with is the herd system in one of the images, but that can be toned down and still function

depends. that's the part that I'd need to think on. honestly they could probably get them to go to a certain place before the game decides to scatter them and interact with something nearby of interest, like water or something. it doesn't have to be increasingly apparent, just subtle. it's certainly better to get it to at least look like they have an objective in a procedural world rather than just leaving them scampering around their entire lives
