Alright, I’m just gonna ramble a bit here, but maybe this’ll save someone’s phone battery one day. A battery’s kinda like a balloon, if you overinflate it or stretch it too much, it eventually gives up and pops. Inside your phone’s lithium ion battery, little ions are constantly running back and forth every time you charge or use it, like tiny commuters stuck in traffic.

You don’t want to drain it to zero or charge it to 100% all the time, that’s like making those poor ions run a marathon every single day with no rest. I usually keep mine between 20% and 80-90%, which gives them room to breathe and keeps the battery healthy.

Once in a while, like maybe once a year, it’s fine to charge it all the way up just to recalibrate the meter, kinda like stretching your legs after a long trip, but doing it often actually wears the battery out faster.

Now if we’re talking about Duracells or other old school batteries, sure, those can handle a full drain every once in a while. But lithium ion batteries in phones and laptops? Nope. Draining those to zero is like making them hold their breath, not good for long term health.

So yeah, don’t drain your new device three times when you first get it. That tip made sense years ago for older battery types, but now it’s just battery abuse disguised as “advice.”

Ugh phishing scams are getting good. Left a voicemail saying in regards to my debit card to contact a number. I searched it and it sends me to “contact us” pages of the bank I use.
Then I searched the number that called and left the voicemail, and it says it’s from one place in the caller ID, but the number matches the places main HQs actual number. So the caller id is a completely different location

They didn’t ask for any info as it was a voicemail, and I’m pretty certain it’s a scam. But I have this weird half thought that “what if they’re warning me?”

But everywhere I look is basically saying that banks won’t contact you unless there’s suspicious activity and even then they won’t ask any specific private info. Thing is, would they ever leave a voicemail? I don’t think so

I’m like 99% certain it’s a scam but this one, was different.

Most operating system that aren't Windows or Mac are based off of Linux. I've heard of like one that isn't, and I dont remember what it was called. I'm sure there are more that are fully custom, but if you use them, you lose out on a LOT of compatibility.
