Good news and bad news. Good news first: Mum is coming home tomorrow. They did blood work on her and have cleared her to finish her recovery on antibiotics at home. Additionally, there does not appear to be any existing underlying cause to her state, so once she gets over this infection she should be gold.

The bad news: She is still experiencing mild delirium. Her memory isn't back yet. This should clear as the infection clears in approximately a week.

1080p with upscaling is a game changer. I use a 1080p monitor and run NVIDIA DSR to upscale games to 1440p through Windows. But ever since I switched to Linux, I’ve noticed that 1080p already looks as sharp as 1440p does on Windows. Because of that, I truly believe 1080p is more than enough for gaming, movies, and TV shows, especially if upscaling is available. I’ll still use upscaling when I can, but if it’s not an option, that’s fine too, because gaming just runs better on Linux overall. At some point, I know I’ll be switching from Intel and NVIDIA to AMD. It just makes more sense these days.

Yeah, 60 FPS is awesome. I don't even remember what I did with No Man's Sky, 'cause I had to fight Nvidia's settings and the game itself. Once I got it set up, I just left it, you know? So I wouldn't mess it up again. I guess it's different for each game with those upscaling settings and stuff.

Dude, when I play No Man's Sky on Windows 11 at 1440p with all the settings cranked up, I get like, 120 FPS, and it never dips below 90. It looks amazing and runs super smooth, no issues at all, except maybe that disappearing bush thing, I dunno if they fixed that yet. But on Linux, it's even better, I get 120 FPS and it never drops below 115, and honestly, it looks the same as Windows. Plus, the bush doesn't vanish! For example, in Harry Potter Legacy on Windows, it takes like 20-25 seconds to load when you go through a door, but on Linux, it's practically instant, like a second or two. Okay, I'll stop rambling now.
