When I was little, we had cans of alphaghetti. The lower price offers similar performance. A percentage difference that could as easily be offset by things like a good motherboard with fast throughput and an appropriate GPU that doesn't need to offload more to the CPU than is necessary

I was gonna mention how it seems to me that the smaller the hardware = the more it heats up if running something graphically intensive

Yk, the book i started reading bc i had an itch for certain type of story but it didn't provide me with what I was looking for came around

It helped me realise what I was really looking for.

I wasn't itching for a book about 40k inquisitors looking for clues and following leads, I wasn't even looking for a hardened protagonist

It was the misery and how every small win is showing in subtle ways how state of characters is deteriorating and foreshadowing how miserable everyone will end up if they don't die in some awful way in the process

E.g. at one point in the story part of the group is captured and taken into a space shuttle about to take off from a station they were on

Another manages to grab a space suit, we are told it might not have enough oxygen or might have a leak, as there is no time she puts it on and grabs the outside of the shuttle

She makes it and bc of that she was able to get her friends out.

Later we find out that suit wasn't properly shielded and a doctor diagnosed her with super cancer with only months left to live

She decides to conceal that fact

I can't wait to see when she has to reveal it in the most inconvenient circumstances with grave consequences
