I recycle a lot so I can appreciate the message, but they'd have been better off using particle board with real structural wood instead of making entire pieces out of elements of what is essentially hyped up cardboard.

One good advantage o particle board is structural stability. It is superior in that regard to MDF and solid wood (obviously), but even superior to highly engineered plywood

I sometimes wish I'd pursued a career in carpentry. Love the smell of cutting wood. There's lots of work in the industry. It's a trade that's not going to go away.

The local provincial government is trying to push people into trades after spending a decade telling them they can be/do anything they want and shitting all over trades...acting surprised people don't want to do it.

After the pandemic people took stock in what they wanted and they weren't happy with the way they were being treated...so a lot of industries took a hit, including trades that build houses.

I tell people time and time again...Can't solve people problems with money.

So far province seems convinced that throwing money at the problem will fix it...while ruining education to force people into lower paying positions because they refuse to make the industry more robust

It's only going to lead to consumer deaths and poor quality infrastructure in an industry that's being lifted up by particle board 😛
