Prob a super-tastebuds "victim". I'm one of them. It took me longer to get into certain foods/drinks as a result. The tastebuds responsible for sensing bitterness are in greater numbers, so other flavors may get lost in translation, cuz bitterness feels very overpowering. You can train the brain a bit through exposure. It just takes more effort (than it does for the non-super-tastebud population).

I hope the medical field can make improvements in their research on chronic fatigue, from long-covid or any other source. It's an area that's been under-researched in the past because of the disorder's incredibly rare and almost illusive nature. Doctors don't really "see" its effects via blood tests even. I also hope it helps raise awareness of why social distancing and masking is still so important, even if people are vaccinated. Long-covid is no joke. And no one knows if they'll get it, regardless of age or health history.

Have you been able to cut off caffeine completely? That's one thing I had to cut off when I started working on my sleep issues. I only do some decaf coffee now and then. Ashwagandha and GABA also helped me lots.

They can knock you out for it too. I'm pretty sure they did for me when I got an endoscopy for gastritis I dealt with several years ago. Altho in the end, I didn't go with the doctor's prescribed medication because it only hid the problem the way pain meds work. I preferred treating the underlying issue. If it's H Pylori bacteria, then it's best to treat that first. Otherwise, usually dietary changes help lots. For me even drinking green tea instead of coffee helped the lining of my stomach so much and stopped all NSAIDs I took often for migraines. And just eating a healthier diet with less greasy and sugary foods. The stomach healed itself.

That's it. I think age doesn't play as much a factor when it comes to a lot of doctors in the US, sadly. Many are arrogant self-absorbed morons who jump into flawed conclusions without actually reviewing a patient's medical history thoroughly and listening to the patient's overall symptoms.

It's why we still see a antibiotics being over prescribed when they're not even needed. Gleam's hospital doctor did that. As well as his dog's vet. At no point did they confirm there was a bacterial infection. Both had viral infections at the time.

So yeah, you gotta shop around for second opinions. And press doctors to listen to your very valid concerns. Never ever hesitate to ask questions and do your own research to back your questions or concerns.
