so I think hand lines are the best way to catch blue crabs; I was so hesistant to try them because it just seemed dumb; you're assuming they don't let go when they can let go any time they want

you have to be very careful at the "beach" in my backyard; it's actually very dangerous and contrasts your stereotypical beach by a long shot

the bottom isn't sand like vacation beaches; it's a very thick mud, almost like clay, that you can get stuck in very easily

so even though the water isn't high enough to drown in, you might not be able to move, and they're at the mercy of sharks, stingrays, and jellyfish

anyway, just try it if you ever get the chance. People will say it ruins the taste but it doesn't. I've tried them both and they taste exactly the same. The only slight difference I noticed was that the cleaned one has more spices in it because the spices had a large open area to enter, but this didn't ruin it at all; in fact it was actually better IMO

and it's so much easier to clean them out when they're raw; you do it with a hose and it's super easy and fast
