Yeah first I thought hull connectors are exactly for this reason. I built my second corvette after like 2 weeks into the game. The first one was very basic just something I can use to farm more parts. This second still used limited parts. Are you guys often buying or bartering the parts you need?

We are intended to be able to use them, but they only display our own inventory for them.
Due to the network settings menu being expanded, I believe this is due to them possibly working on corvette interaction permissions

If I place 3x Infra-Knife + 2x Phase Beam on my corvette, what should I expect to happen when I hold down the trigger? Should all 5 fire in sequence? or only 3? or ...?

ok, I probably wrote too little. On my other corvette I placed two infra-knife and two phase beam. When I switch to phase beam and fire, all 4 visual weapons on the ship will fire green beams, and when I switch to infra-knife, bullets will come out of all 4 visual weapons, in sequence.
On my new corvette, I placed 3 infra-knife and 2 phase beam, but here only the 3 infra-knife visual weapons fire. They will, however, fire green beams when switching to phase beam. The 2 phase beam visual weapons are not showing bullets nor beams.
on my new corvette I now removed two of the infra-knife weapon parts, and now all 3 weapons (1x infra-knife part and 2x phase beam part) fire, either green beams or infra-knife bullets

Its not even a glitch, despite many referring to it as one
for the half offset it's specifically titan habs and the rock hopper you have to use on the right side of the hab.
So if you need to do it on both sides you need to be able to place the rockhoppper on the right side for both sides of the corvette or use enough habs / hab walkways as a scaffold to place the next part where you want
It can work with other habs, just that (for some reason) it works most consistently with the titan hab
Yeah due to the titan hab having slightly more connecting points on the large hab if i remember the video correctly; I've definitely used it with other habs it's just easier with titan most of the time
Hi! New player to NMS here. Is there any way to get the Aeron Corvette parts? I have seen a few ships but I don’t know how to get those parts.
Most parts are obtained by just searching buried modules on planets
I have been farming the corvette parts for a while but can’t seem to find those in the buried modules or for trading
The aeron parts are rewards from a previous expedition. To obtain them now, you'd either have to wait for a redux, trade with another player, or modify your account data to grant yourself the rewards (either manually or via a tool).

build in height, also try some glitchbuilding like grid breaking, to place parts where they cant be normally be placed. also try to experiment with those platings, there a lot of them for a reason
just finished my corvett. took 10 atempts cuz of build limit, was makeing it way too big

My C class corvette with nothing but core modules on it has better maneuverability than my B class did at C, by 300
It has 500 but every other corvette I start from C class can only barely scratch above 300

Not everything, there isn't enough tech slots. But 3 of each thing with with stats you care about. Though you will have to limit yourself to a single upgraded weapon if you really want to max your stats. You don't need to give up all that much stats to fit a second weapon though.

when a vehicle is parked in a compartment, it automatically enters the platform as soon as it touches it or enters the area - at this moment the pilot automatically leaves the vehicle in a special place (so as not to fall out of the compartment or move above the compartment or even fall out of the corvette. At the moment when the pilot leaves the vehicle,
the transport itself disappears, becoming a hologram. The vehicle appears as a physical object only after landing. I've seen some ships that are hovering, with some kind of multicolored "thrusters" for the hovering engines, is that a expedition ship, or is that something that can be put on corvettes, or ? I should get a screenshot, the description here is probably far from enough.

Place a two slot long angle piece in the space and rotate it to face either behind or to the wing. I'd go for one of the thicker ones to fill in the empty space.

These hovering thrusters; Having perused previous expeditions rewards lately I now recognize the ship as an expedition reward, so I'm assuming those hovering thrusters are part of that, but if they are installable, please let me know.

correct, it's a expedition reward ship, so not a corvette, and the hovering thrust effect is almost certainly part of that ships design

Anyone know if there's just a straight up strict hard cap on corvette parts? I've built a 1:1 scale UNSC Frigate and NMS hits a breakpoint error when loading it, despite the fact it goes on to load the ship and run just fine behind the error message.

The first one I ever built is a flying monstrosity.
This thing became known as “The Oppressive Brick.” A majority of the weapons don’t actually do anything because I didn’t know (at the time) that you’re limited to three of each turret, three rockets, three engines…still kinda fun to fly around in though.
So i came back after about 2 years, discovered corvette, and now im hooked all over again.
My first build, now im already plotting my next build.

Actually you can place your weapons anywhere and they can shoot through the corvette
If you want the most power I'd use phase beams. Place 6 phase beam turrets (even tho only 3 show up in tech), get some upgrades, and it will just MELT things
Even if damage potential doesn't say it will
That stat can be misleading anyway
Phase beamer, photon cannon and positron launcher are my current weapons, not sure if I should leave one of them out.

Generally, supercharge the base technology first and then the upgrades second, try to have them all be adjacent

Damage potential is a misleading stat. It is not DPS. You can see the DPS of a weapon by hovering over its core technology module.
I would physically put 6 phase beam turrets on your Corvette. It may not say the damage is much higher but trust me it will demolish things.

its a dreadnought, they have a chance to spawn in every system but mostly in pirate systems
if you warp to the system it can trigger a freighter battle
and you need to take out the dreadnought
if you make it surrender, not destroy then you can take command
for free

at this point im not sure what to do. I've upgraded my corvette up to S class, and i still havent unlocked all the module slots. There is still about 4 on the right side thats missing. Why?
quick question does more than three thrusters work on a vette or are you limited to three
You have to unlock tech slots separately, at the same terminal, for units or storage augments
You may add an endless amount of them (up to the limit of 100 modules)
Only the first 3 will appear as tech upgrades in the inventory, and only the first 10 will have their visual effects (the rest will visually be turned-off)
There's no functional benefit to having more than 3

They seem to work alright but I heard someone say they can corrupt your save, is this true?

I can't even really use the angled pieces because they are triangular pyramids and not rectangular, so if I try and put a hab behind them they stick out :(

You can't.
Lots of upgrades, if you mod NMS, you can get an infinite amount.

1k is low, you'll exceed that even with bad upgrades
Your corvette will never be S-tier after construction unless you have mods. Always built as C-tier.

The starship terminal can be used to get it up to S-class. But like I said, it will always start off as C after construction. Unless you got mods, like the one I have that removes tech overload.

damage potential is useless, just look at actual damage stat on the module
also some weapons really benefit from multiple turrets. phase beams can shoot up to 12 lasers (i have 8 turrets and 2 of them wont shoot), maybe more if you install photon cannons (idk if their visual 4 cannons counts as 4 by the game)
16k damage to anything is guaranteed
maybe 16k isnt that much, maybe there is the way to raise numbers even higher

I finally got around to putting actual effort into designing a corvette
I call it the HCV Albatross
Though I might tweak the design a bit

try to use mods if possible - there is a mod that allows you to build freighter parts anywhere on bases, including corvettes.

The event was scripted, there was no way for us to win, Arrowhead handled the reinforcement budget poorly, and I don't think they accounted for us actually getting as far as we did, given how buggy stuff was

as far as i know - its simpler to just build parts around of space where you want your rooms, and then delete living modules. you will have a big room and you can install any doors you want
look: build living modules. build around some plating. delete living modules. now there is a hollow space surrounded by plating.

just spent 6 hours making my corvette smaller but keeping the same reactor strength it used to be to be 2 and a half habs long and two tall now its one hab long and two tall but i decided to lengthen it to two habs cos it looked weird still does but it has the max reactors of 10 in it ill send a pic later when i can finally get the landing gear to sit flush and not sticking out🤣

gonna change a couple things the vesper pieces atop the cockpit are a bit too large and change the paint. two habs long .three walkways at the back that holds the engines inaccessible due to parts clippage. for the third ever vette ive built im happy
sometimes i do but my exit is literally five steps from my cockpit. just dont teleport to your freighter while your spinning around youll have to reload your game🤣

You'd have more luck one shoting a Sentinel with 6 phase beam corvette modules and min maxing any upgrades.

I did that and just got 4 openings. I wish we could rotate parts 90 degrees so we can make walkways to connect Habs like wings.
Did they patch it out? I did see tutorials about making 90 degree rotated habs by freeplacing modules
you might be able to glitch them in place, but I doubt they will connect so you can walk from one to another, if they're 90 degrees apart

I think it's based on the first access module you place
ig if you don't want to mess with the ship's shape you could put a thunderbird landing bay closet to the cabin
alternatively, I think you can also place short range teleporters in corvettes, so you could hook some up to skip a bit of the walk

I highly recommend going into free crafting for your corvette unless you’re trying to do it strictly by the book. It’s the best way to have full creative freedom.
It takes trial and error. Make some designs you don’t like. Scrap’em and try again. Try big, try small, try medium ships. Find what you can work with. I made my ship, The Lupis Bellator, after two whole days of testing and experimenting with the building system. It’s a no glitch ship that actually looks good.
No shade to glitchers. They create awsome stuff. I’ve seen some amazing ships of sail that have me tempted to learn to glitch myself.

I also saw a comment on youtube from 5 months ago that if you had maxed out your tech modules on your corvette, filled it with modules, and then fitted more parts that take up slots, the editor would add slots beyond the limit to hold them. Is this true?

I know you can push it over the C, B, A caps some.
I suspect that if anything, the person observed that they had filled their slots with modules, but had not reached the limit of 60, and then added more corvette parts that occupy slots and got "free slots" for those modules. Maybe, just maybe, this is a way to get free tech slots for the corvette, repeatedly fill the tech slots with modules, put in parts, take off parts, fill new slots with modules, rinse and repeat. I can test this tonight.

Looks like you have space for another medusa reactor and some figurines for even more agility. You can also get a fair bit more out of agility by bringing things like the core pulse drive to the edge. It doesn't benefit from adjacency so putting it in the middle of a blob isn't that useful
On the other side, swapping these two should yield a massive damage increase, weapon core modules benefit greatly from adjacency and supercharging
I don't know if anyone has made an updated version for corvettes, but there's a pinned adjacency guide for legacy ships and their adjacency that is still correct, it's just missing the corvette pieces: #nms-legacy-ships message

You said earlier that the phase beam glitch still works, but I can't get more than 4 weapon parts to fire on my corvette. I thought the glitch was that you got up to 12 beams?

related question; I had built and modded for infra-knife on my corvette before now switching to phase beams, but I still need some splash damage weapons for farming corvette parts without having to dig them out, any recommendations?
or maybe I should just make a corvette specialized for planetary farming, hmm

You can only create empty spaces to use as "large rooms" on corvettes
speed gets slower the more parts you have i think
you can usually make up the difference with medusa reactors and upgrades tho

Some say nms actually calculated mass, others say its just hg make corvette having worst base maneuverability to offset its tech allowance and everything else calculates the same regardless of ships’ actual size or parts used
Ive seen certain wing parts increase maneuverability slightly, and other parts lowering it when editing one.
Engines lowered it too, oddly enough but I already had 4.

Wtf. I messed around with my corvette upgrades placement and that, got it up to 2500 for maneuverability before logging off, and when I get back on its down to 1800

All Cockpits Boost maneuverability and boost by a small percentage.
Cockpits work with Medusa reactors for a maneuverability and pulse drive Boost; they also indirectly work with all Pulse drive options to boost maneuverability on corvettes.
When you make a corvette or even edit a existing one you can delete the cockpit, place three medusa reactors and then add the cockpit last; this will marginally improve maneuverability and you'll have 3 medusa reactors in the tech slots instead of two medusa reactors and a cockpit.

If you have more then one corvette it will forget techslot placement and still rearrange it also you might have to edit tech slot layout; You can also edit the corvette again, exiting editing it without changes and it should fix it but only until the game messes it up again
then do you mean the interior cockpoit display for speed where it reads u/s ?
yeah pretty much also i think it's limited to rendering speed of the engine i've heard
