when i build a corvette is not final, i always look from sides to sides while flying it, taking picture on it, then if somethings off then i try to replace it if it looks good or not
if i own that corvette i may change the glass to square ones, if it looks good then good, if looks bad then change it back to round ones

If no steps you will fall and be sad
Make sure it’s not at your jet pack fuel limit, give it some leeway
And constantly measure height, you will want to stop at a quarter of the world limit remaining
so what happens if you go too high?
Also a lesson I learned is keep the base compact and don’t build out too far
Electricity breaks, you float, crafts don’t land right and building sucks
And it will have severe save issues

Quick question about corvettes. If I put the cockpit off-axis, how does this affect "rolling" with the ship? In Empyrion, the axis of rotation was always aligned with the cockpit, but in another game I played it was aligned with the centre, which means that an off-centre cockpit made rolling also lift or lower the cockpit, which triggered nausea for me. How does it work in NMS?

In that other game, having a cockpit far to the left, as an example, and then banking right, also gave the cockpit a fast upwards motion, because the roll of the ship was centred around its centre axis, but in Empyrion, and apparently also NMS, the roll is centred around the cockpit. I think that other game had no dogfighting which would've made it very hard if the space also shifted when you rolled so maybe that was the reason for it.

Quick question about corvettes — is anyone else having issues in multiplayer?
My friends can’t sit on the sofas/chairs I placed inside, and sometimes when we exit the corvette the character gets stuck spinning in place nonstop 😅
Is this a known bug or just a multiplayer desync thing? Any info would be appreciated 🚀

I personally always build in creative because I have the most fun that way (and could not be bothered to grind parts only to realize I missed one or something)

I guess it depends on your objective. If your objective is to build a cool and unique ship, then the ingame tools are more than sufficient. If your goal is to copy the design of a popular sci-fi intellectual property, then the blender addon is much more convenient.

As a console player I would like them to introduce a set of tools that allow things like free rotation, resize and smaller snap grid.
I never felt the need to rotate any objects, but then I'm also not really interested in copying existing designs, I'm building my own stuff.
if you have to glitch and trick the system then the system was never sufficient
even building your own stuff, it would be better to have those abilities

It might be a little bit better. It doesn't seem harmful to have them, but I probably wouldn't use them much if at all. And people who do want them have access to blender anyway so it doesn't really seem super important to have them in game

for me i am more fascinated on vanilla builds than mod or blender builds
i have respect for pure vanilla builders
i myself just use mod/blender bcs i want beeg ships 
Some games do offer that kind of detail, so it isn't totally out of the realm of possibility. It sure feels like a huge waste of developer time to implement but there's no way for us to know how many really care. Best we can do is suggest that whoever does care about it submits feedback. Give the devs the data they need to make decisions about what features to focus on.

i categorized the builds, vanilla builds, decoration builds (like covered in flat panels) then theres blender and mods
I doubt most people use blender or mods to make their ships, but most of the good ones do make use of half-tile offsets. You can usually tell whoever uses third party tools by how big the ships are though. You can just ignore any that are huge.
blender & mod users is only like minority in the grand scheme of things
you'd be suprised at how much vanilla glitchbuilding resembles modding

One advantage of base builder mod/blender over vanilla is precision of placement and adding things that normally can't be in corvettes (much easier, anyway), but there is extra prestige in making them purely vanilla

I get what you mean and you are technically right. But arguably anytime you teleport anywhere, you end up actually teleporting to your corvette since it always spawns next to where you teleported 🙂
just use the landing bay as flatbed, just let us transport scrap inside
Yeah the Corvette comes with you technically but that way you don't have to fly anywhere to get to your destination
So long as you can teleport to it by terminus
I mainly use it to return to my freighter when I'm out and about
If it's in the same system it takes like 1-2 seconds to teleport

I think so, if you just import the base data it will overwrite the physical appearance of the Corvette you paste it to. That will also change tech if you get different reactors and stuff I believe. Not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure...
Better safe than sorry, might as well move the tech and cargo somewhere just in case

When building normally if you don't have enough tech slots for the Corvette parts it just adds tech slots

The one I’m using now is. Got it from the app bot site with 700 pieces. After swapping to something with 100 pieces the same thing happened though, haha. Also my Steam Deck doesn’t even drop 20 frames and holds at about 35. Really odd to me.

you need to use a save editor
there is an export button

when you click that, it "converts" your blender model to JSON file format and stores it into your clipboard
you still have to paste it to your save editor
I tried to export via NomNom, and the whole file said "nul".

just dont scale them differently
all the sides need to be equal
so you cant have 1 side be 4x the other side

Okay, thinking ahead for when I wanna place weapons on my corvette. If I place a weapon inside a piece using the half grid glitch, would that weapon collide with the part or would the shots pass through it? This is assuming its just got one piece in the way and the weapon itself is inside that one piece.

Cockpit works with Medusa reactors for maneuverability bonuses, you can also place three medusa reactors before the cockpit and they'll provide a slight bump in performance and the cockpit will still work but won't be in the tech slots

Actually I didn't have much intention anyways besides "How much length could I get away with while still making it presentable?" 😄
Generally, the three interior themes are:
Thunderbird - barebones/thrown together. Practicality over anything else
Titan - militaristic and organized, though bare. Non-essential objects are often the bare minimum they can be
Ambassador - clean and luxurious. Often looks high-tech and expensive, definitely the most comfortable
I'd say Titan also has the most "mechanic" aesthetic, good for the strenuous hands-on type of stations.
The storage units in the thunderbird habs look horrible.

It could be decorations, but ive also had an issue where deleting a window removes that warning and lets me finish

I think I remember struggling once with a loose part I couldn't find.
I don't remember having a window problem, but you'll wanna add that after you save with the structure you want. The windows can be added afterwards as part of the decor selection.
I already deleted everything and it keeps appearing.
I would just start over then and try again. There's a point where trying to fix the issue takes longer than just redoing the project.

there's nothing protruding down through the ceiling except for the structure of the hab itself

I asked earlier maybe someone will have figured it out since... Been trying to decorate friends corvettes and have managed to get the build menu to show up twice for two different players. I cannot however repeat it consistently usually the build menu appears but nothing is in it. Have tried in group, out of group, every build permission.
Nope seems I have more than enough space to the side, the same thing happens if I move it few blocks
try temporarily placing a hab in front of it and see if the snap point clicks
if it does remove the hab and place the original part in front back
Nope not even that. It works if I move it one step down but screw that, back to the drawing board
try placing the inverse in the spot below
and see if it will clip to that
if not move the whole wing assembly(i assume) and half snap into the body
if you merge the two speedbird cowling with snap glitch might move the snap points and make it work and look pretty good too

Bcs while in flight, the exocrafts would just fall through
So I made the mistake of moving an item from inside the corvette interior while in hyperspace and the game did not like this and my corvette can no longer be modified or manually landed because the rug is probably super far behind the ship. Is there any way to fix this without having to make a new corvette?
