corvette engines (atleast big ones) in my experience were better then upgrades directly. but then again you should fit most of your stuff in the slots if its a smaller corvette

Completely redid my smaller interceptor design and gave it different "wings". I think it looks much better than my first design. Certainly considering more designs with a similar wing setup. Maybe bigger.
jsut the same thing but allows you to teleport between 2 connected teleportes

You can use a mod to put a base teleporter. But there's also the other type of teleporter that allows you to go from point A to point B inside the ship.

hey, im going for a sleak "arrow" kind of design, but struggling to find the right parts to cleanly expand the ship as it goes backwards. any ideas? for the roof for example, I want something which slants on both sides but I can't find anything

Hey guys i need your help, I built my corvette ship last night and today I wanted to modify it a bit and I removed a walkway from the ship and now I cant build anything on the ship, I cant add new parts and if I remove core components like the reactor I cant add it back in. how do I fix this?

Hello everyone, returning player here and was wondering if its worth it starting to build a corvette or if i should just do normal ship hunting like before? i mainly like the hauler ships but they seem to be a money pit

Yes, but this happens on every corvette 90% of the time when trying to return after beaming back on them at a freigther

okay what the french! Have any of you tried to land on a planet. get out of your corvette then summon your freighter above? your corvette disappears! AND it was off the summon list! WHOA thank god for reload from earlier! Almost lost my baby!
I had that. the corvette just gets yoinked to the freighter
In multiplayer groups you can also yoink your friends to your freighter by spawning it occasionally

Glitching.
There's a split second between transitioning from a green location to a red one. Click in that window and you snap to the red one.
I think so far the list of notable bugs/issues they need to address with corvettes includes:
- Corvette parts getting turned into edible bones in player inventory when removed from a corvette
- Corvettes spawning on top of/clipped into bases when player arrives via teleporter
- Corvettes at settlements spawning on the normal landing pad
- Corvettes get yoinked to freighter when freighter is first summoned to a planet
- Corvettes do not consistently stay docked at freighter when player warps the freighter to new system.
- Corvette Ambasador habs lose thier doorway when connecting to other habs front to back. Side to side doorways unaffected.
And that's just what I could think of off the top of my head.

habs loosing doorway is not limited to ambasador habs
it also happens with other ambassador parts and that entrance elevator one

There's a good chance the only reason it's in the menu is as a leftover from them trying different ways to beam players up.

I had that issue, when I placed a space heater near the transition between two sections. Once removed, the issue was resolved. Try removing anything near that transition.

I found the problem was a positron cannon I installed below phased through the floor, causing me to be about a few pixels higher hence the trouble going through 😅

Hello Games, My hangar is full and I still have so many Corvette build ideas and I am an admitted spaceship hoarder. At one time I had over 80 ships in that other spaceship building game that shall remain unnamed. cough cough Starfield.
Okay, so, now I'm literally soft locked inside my escher painting of a Corvette merged with my base. Can't reach the teleporter any more. A little afraid to try loading the game again

on the corvette? yes, after i placed mine initially it looked fine, then after getting the carbon it went empty and has stayed that way ever since, even though i can still get the carbon from it. doesn't look so great in my corvette garden.

anyone help I cannot find scrap on the planets that say salvageable scrap in the description...the target sweep in analysis visor just points me in the direction but i search for hours with nothing

Do people generally use ALL of the normal ones (except weapons, ig people pick 2 or 3), and do you reckon I use all of the normal pieces? Like all of the scanners, illegal deflector thing, etc?
for me scanners are pretty much optional on corvette
just teleport reciever and some warp range modules
and this for style points
Depends on what you're using your ship to do. I use it for trade a lot, so definitely want the economy scanner. Though not being able to land on Trading Outposts is kind of annoying.
placing teleport gate somewhere farther away is also an option

Meh. Then I'd need to build a short range teleporter to get from the "teleport spot" back home, etc. Doable, but can't be arsed in the short term.

Ziplines would be a similar, smaller solution that would probably fit with existing code around the "power lines" and the like.

Would be difficult to code around the fact that it's not attached to a specific base for teleport shennanigans, but theoretically possible I imagine.

So, I tried moving my base computer and I got a different escher painting. One that I could escape from. So I'm gonna see if moving my base computer down the hill makes a difference.

Yeah, I don't think you can carry a starship with the corvette. Would be a neat idea but I don't imagine it works that way. Based on your apparent testing, it seems not
sadly, but cool screenshots can be made if you don't move the ship
True enough. Smallest ship class that has landing pads for starships seems to be frigates. The biggest Corvettes are still smaller than most frigates. But who knows, maybe we'll get there.
my mini freighter can carry 2 starships and be completely ok but, i can't since they phase through
is there a known bug concerning the "ambassador" hab with the mission terminal? you can glitch into the side of it very easily and just walk through the wall, lemme see if i can record it
Maybe they'll adapt the corvette feature to be able to buidl custom frigates with landing pads one day. That'd be neat.

Trouble is, the Corvettee not really made to be a freigher, least at this time, who knows in the future.
Made a big beefy version of it. I have strict internal space requirements since I want a pretty much fully functional flying base, and this is about the minimum size

Freighter != Frigate. There are combat frigates, exploration frigates, industrial frigates, etc. already in the game. Just not player pilotable.

There's probably a lot more to it than you realize, but I'm sure the devs would love the ability to add hangerbays eventually.

None of the landing pads "move" so moving one ship when another ship moves is "new content."So to speak.

Played around with it, didn't like the AEW&C module up top
Now it got 3 zenith reactors, and a base jump of 1200
I tell you creative is a good way to get started. I am now having completed the construciton of my ship turned creative off and am enjoying scavaging for parts with teammates 🙂
Exactly my plan, got the build and the parts list figured out and I'll go back to my normal save and start scavenging

I guess a slight slant would be possible if you used the right amount of diffusers and those triangle-like pieces and progressively used smaller sized ones as you went.
This last update turned out pretty good. :3 Finally, limitless creativity is possible and we can design our own ships. :3 For the joy of it, I even tried to copy the little ship icon from the editor. 🤣

what happens if I make alot of changes to a corvette, instead of applying changes I save it, then I go to a new landing pad and resume changes then save? will first ship get changed?
Look for a planet with Salvagable Scrap, then dig up the scrap containers buried on the surface
you either trade for them using pasts you have or find a planet with buried technology, find the gold wifi symbol

Once you have a corvette you can speed it up by exiting your chair mid flight and scanning for them inside your ship, then shooting them with the photon cannon

Spend a few hours going crazy digging up parts, figure out what parts you really want/need, and trade the ones you don't in for more of what you do.
There's a storage container for ship parts next to the console so you don't have to carry all of them at once
with one of the landing bays, you can create a functional transporter room

I change my ship level like any ship in the game from tier C to S, but I like to have more a color choice like in the outfit
the modules all have their own tier though

How do i get reactors and stuff
Anyone had an error when reediting their Corvette where it says all modules must be connected?
I wanted to update my Space 1999 Eagle Transporter but this happens...
Tried moving and resnapping everything...
(Interior is decorated)
Go into the corvette building central and check "Basic modules"
You need at least 1 reactor for it to be able to take off
What other required stuff is there
If you want Advanced modules, you need to look for planets with "Salvageable scrap"
A cab, a cockpit, a thruster and a weapon
If I remember correctly
Besides the reactor, of course
Then you take these parts, and you can trade them
No, it can just be a flying box
But you know, its fun to build a "ship-looking" ship
Or do whatever you want, thats what NMS is for

@olive eagleso in regard to this ship id built extra blcoks to connect each ship so i could finalise the great thing is that after finalising move to another pad infron oyour new corvette and create a new one, you can then delete parts off your other corvette from that location making it save ect
Even tried deleting all 4 legs & landing gear & putting one gear underneath to see if error disappeared.
I am beginning to think its an error carried over from the internal decorating

Cosmetics are low %, useful things are high %.
So weapons, landing bays, cockpits etc are good for trading. But wings, radiators, antenna are useless.

Either call in a different ship, use a teleporter, or just try and jump and activate the hatch from the outside (sometimes you can use things through walls if you're close enough.
i really hope they give us a curved Hab/walkway for the fighter style cockpits

you get random stuff you have to trade in for stuff you want if you dont get it while youre searchign
can also get at end of derelict freighters and sometimes rare pirate drops or attack freighters cargo pods that just say cargo has a chance as well

It will change where they fire from only in third person view
probaly onmly if you can see them from cockpit otherwise will need be in overhead view to see where shots coming from since all aim at crosshairs

Anyone notice the corvette stats being funky? There are times where adding better engines make the maneuverability go down(not over the limit) despite showing higher number bonuses.
As example, I'm curious as to why the supercharged dynamo shows higher stats than the arcadia heavy, but the mobility is the same.
You could install it on another starship, then store it and reinstall it on the corvette

Sometimes by finnicking with those parts in the corvette edit mode, you can force some parts to be prioritized before others for that
you can use decorative modules but theyre mostly slopes

Indeed. Every time I try to make something aesthetic, the stats seem abysmal, even if the design "seems" efficient. But making box ships with a few fins placed strategically are 10%+ "better" stat wise.
Just trying to find a nice balance, and the inconsistent ever-changing numbers are driving me crazy.

U can put ships into archive so u can have more then 8 ships
And as long as there is a way to enter the cockpit through a hab and an entrance (either any accessway or a ladder which opens a hole on the roof)
You may, though you cannot place corvettes into your Starship Archive
and the regular maximum for starships is 12, plus the 18 that can be stored in the Starship Archive

Yes, do not trust refiners to not do so when unloading and reloading them, which includes that
in 3d editor? changing block can cause it be moved on the part grid. That's actually big problem as we aren't able to edit both at same time

so you moved it, it lost adjacency bonus by shuffling parts, and it doesn't redo that back

You just need to find a planet that has Salvagable Scrap when you scan it.
Still as a new-ish player, 1k nanites is a lot
Salvage scrap + explosive rounds = profit
Once you find runaway mold, you'll be drowning in nanites.
Set up a base and just teleport between it and the space station.

You can find them on any planet (I think). It'll show up as a three-star symbol that says "Curious Deposit" in your Analysis Visor. You get 400-500+ mold per one you mine, and they can be refined into nanites.

It's a 5:1 ratio (five mold for one nanite); but if you find a good deposit and force respawn them by teleporting too and from that farm, you could make thousands of nanites.
Most of the 47,000 I have is because of that method.
