Heya, ran into a problem, when in build mode path to cockpit is clear but when exit build mode middle section is blocked off and so is enterance to the cockpit itself, do i need to resart the whole thing or its still fixable ?
If I were to upgrade the class of my corvette, and then rebuild that corvette later, do I lose my class upgrade?

First thing I'd try is switching to another ship and back...that fixes disconnected habs and other issues right after building

I’ve collected a lot of the pieces that I need. I’m wondering if it’s possible to create a ship that’s literally circular in shape. Idk if that makes sense. I guess with a cockpit in the middle at the top, with a ring around the outside. Has anybody designed anything like that?
I played around with the pieces, but it’s quite hard
like normal players aren’t gonna care for botany, or cooking, or fishing

I had a ambassador hab not connecting properly and leaving a large gap. Think I deleted both it and the part it was connecting to and that fixed the hole.
i tried emulating the internals of the Falcon too haha i hit the build limit though

I really like my little corvette that came together organically during the expedition. I've enjoyed turning crafting fees off and going ham in my main save just to see what all it can do, but it was nice to just slowly shape it over time too
The change to the refund bay really helped too though

It's a simple trick, I'm making a build video for that ship atm
What you do is build the ship you want, then build like the reactor and stuff, then go to the pad in front of where your Corvette is, then click make a new Corvette, and you can turn around and delete the parts you don't want from your other one

easy way to get around this, put a unit on the wall
because its the only one that had a good transition into the other section of the ship, since it clips. Good for looks, no so good for being inside the ship

I found a cool design I wanted to replicate but the tutorial isnt much of a tutorial, just a no voice over recording of a guy building it (he backtracks regularly) so it's hard to follow
rushed build and not exactly like my red one everyone is asking for a tutorial of but it is pretty similar. I 2x speed the video as to shorten it from an hour. hope this helps ppl figure out the style ive been making. also I hope this kinda explains why It is hard to make tutorials, I go in with a general idea but a LOT of trial and error. the ...

I had the invers with a refiner. Remove/pick up the module and put it back down
You can attach them to sides and use them to bump out your side mounted engine’s or whatever else you want to offset.

tried to build a lancer class corvette from halo, couldnt make it long enough lol
so to get the curves via a smaller ship use the aerofoil winngs

The difference between 3 and 1 thing is very much noticeable.
I have 3 S hyperdrives, sure. However, 3 S hyperdrives tech enhancers AND 3 reactors that do light year jump range, make it uber long. Like 2400-2500 range, or more if the super charged slot is where you throw it.

You can just put one of each, but you will NOT have stat ability like that due to adjacency bonuses or stats like that if you do not have 3 of them on there.

so I have to have them physically on my ship as a physical visable decoration in order to benefit from them? I cant just find the Zenith Reactor module out in the wild and throw it into a slot, and replace the physical build of it with something less ugly?

If you want the bonuses, throw 3 of each and find a way to bury the module or make it look neat in the build. If you don't care about uber enhanced stats, just throw one, call it a day. Otherwise no, you have to install it from the corvette build menu. It can't just be thrown in as a tech slot.

Rule of thumb is you can mesh the reactors and all that or hide them from sight at certain angles. I bury mine or clip mine into the build to make it look neat.

so ive found that the curved engine covers can half block you out at a diagonal angle
nothing is bringing that unique weapon back to make it buildable. It seems i've encountered a bug that removes it from the account maybe. Its just not a option anywhere/

Extra storage is extra storage, always worth it
@sand vaporive used a frighter since forever and since the storage boxes are just your base boxes corvettes essentially remove the need for a frighter other than to cold storage your ships
I might build the ship from interstellar
They link to the same boxes. So say you have one that is basic minerals/materials and one for crafting components slap those both on there for ease of access

well with freighter you can access the storage boxes directly but with corvette you need to access them manually.
dont see any option on the corvette when inspecting the inventory to see the storage boxes there (ike the freighter)

The moment they give us an exocraft bay for the corvette is the moment freighters will become optional

i was able to use the base computer to 'claim' a base in a space station tho
They just turned their corvette into a full island
so if you didnt know using multiple people you can essentially make a crazy base using the corvette as a flat surface point
high in the sky
first place on floor then move it to the required height, the downside it once its placed you cannot interact with it agian
it counts as floating once place since you can fly the corvette away
So like- something I’ve noticed is, corvettes can do everything that a smaller ship can do, only better. So what’s the function of the small ships now?

Find a planet with Salvagable Scrap; set the autopilot when you’re maybe 200u above the ground; helmet scan for scrap nodes; mark them, and then blast them with your corvette cannons
You get 95% of the nodes without having to leave the ship. The other 5% are glitched under the world.

the reactor doesn't count to the shield enhancing maximum
so you could have 3 ceto reactors and 3 shield boosters

If you land your corvette on a base, and enter build more from the outside, the game determines the owning base is the planetary one. But once a part is placed, if you enter the corvette, the game now determines that the base you are on is the corvette. So now you can probably pick the same piece up and place it down.
I'll have to test. But based on how the game works, it might be possible.
Yeah, if you're using just the basic parts. Only a few are worth more than 1 million. Most are a few hundred thousand. And you have a limit of 100 parts.

You can interact with the hatch operation button from the outside
Sometimes corvette just randomly closes the ramp in anomaly
So FYI, you can put High-Energy Shields inside of Zenith reactors if you click the side of them with the shield. If you wanna hide the ugly spheres.
But, it can bug out of you move stuff around afterwards.
Might result in a "modules must be connected" message.
When I first did it, you could she the shield ball inside the center of the reactor. So I wonder if it was meant to be intentional, but its just buggy.

The titan heavy booster fits right in where it's supposed to on the right side (first image), but on the left side (second image) it absolutely refuses to snap one notch ahead of where it is; it's just...stuck there, and refuses to go one ahead like it does on the other side, I've removed like half the parts on the left side to figure out why it's not working but it's just not cooperating lmao, anybody got any idea?

Well, technically speaking, the corvette parts count as crafting materials; ergo, if you're looking to build your own custom ship to your heart's content but you're struggling to get the desired parts, making crafting free will fix that
That said, if you're trying to gather all the parts as like a collector thing...I can't really help u there 😅

Hey anyone having a problem with the corvette weapons? Whenever I shoot in first person mode it shoots from the 2 front turrets but then when I go into third person it shoots from completely different turrets, like it'll shoot from 1 bottom turrets, 1 side and 1 top so its just very uneven. Anyone know a fix?
I mean...I did; just go to options and look thru the difficulty settings, they're customizable
Turrets in third person shoot from the last 2 placed turrets
Past that there isn't a fix for the first person difference
In my corvette I have to fight in third person otherwise my ship shoots itself
I believe it's mainly an issue with extra parts that don't count as corvette parts
So the sails and railings on mine get shot

I usually fly in first person, I like the feeling and the mini map radar in the cockpit

i found a pretty cool building glitch
it's possible to build outside of the boundaries by just placing your camera in a spot where the part can be placed, then quickly flicking to the part where it can't while also placing the part
You can rotate things at an angle.
Yea that'll prob work but I feel like it'll be awkward looking cause it won't look like its on an angle,

Add a living wall free place inside a hab and you can attach a new hab to it at an angle perpendicular to the wall.
