Yeah you have to put hab pieces down then decorate and later remove the hab. Just make sure the ship is STILL interconnected or you will get a warning that pieces are not connected
Try putting the cockpit in the rear

oh yikes. if you maxed out complexty. then add windows afterwards in playermode and go BACK into the shipbuilder, you kinda softlock the builder, untill you remove the additional complexity
The moment I realized we actually can export the corvette out of expedition, so why waste the precious export item slots on components.. That was the moment I bacame a worshipper of chaos
It also made me realized that the game is very relaxed about clipping, that is cool

giving it more tech slots is actually storage augmentation, you just have to click into an empty slot in the tech inventory

I think I may have found a bug, Does anyone else clip through their ship when you are standing in the area a module is built while having the build menu open???? What I mean is I was building a storage module in my ship and was standing close to the adjacent wall. I place the module it obviously moved to allow me to build it again elsewhere like normal, the problem is that elsewhere was right where I was standing and I clipped through my ship.

Hmm.. I wonder if InfraKnife gets a "nerf" by having no component making it stronger on corvettes. Even Phase beam gets special turrets, I wonder if it will be competitive, dont have the module but if it imporves heat efficiency/cooling then it might be corvette meta

Are the refiners in the corvette bugged? I use them to refine items come back later and the entire thing is empty
Corvettes are amazing but at the end of the day they are just vastly souped up haulers(not kidding, they literally have the same stat bonuses as haulers). Having one or two is definitely a must but not much more than that.

Thankfully all the unique tech they get from their modules makes their stats a lot better than haulers, heck they can reach some of the highest stats ever due to it
If anything it's a shame that haulers are worse corvettes, besides the ease of use

if you warp with refiner working it empties, its a bug
Explorer class, you have high shields and, long distance light jumping, your manuverability is pretty low, and weapon potential isn't as important, get manueverability up though, add wings and other items from the second tab to your ship
True but the weapons remain the same because none of the real damage dealing weapons get extra tech so they are still big time down the order of ships when it comes to damage potential.
Kinda, unless you like photon cannons in which they're amazing

Positron Ejector doesn't either and that's probably the 2nd best ship weapon you can have besides Infra-Knife.

Yeah, phase beam is good as a utility weapon. Won't do much in the way of damage but it's free shield recharge for you.
Question, anyone else having issues with teleport cables on their corvette?
Only thing that sucks about the phase beam(besides it sucking at dealing damage) is that if the enemy ship is out of shields it's not doing you any good either.

theres been some persistence issues with the refinery module in corvettes for me, in this instance I docked at an npc freighter while i had some copper refining in the wall module and when i came back theres absolutely nothing in there. No new copper or chromatic metal in any of my inventories

Yeah in creative you don't need to have a part in the inventory to place it
just try some stuff again and again, even toggle creative to try out some stuff, then you'll be comfortable with it

You can also just turn off costs in the difficulty settings, but I like keeping them separated

It is, yeah, but it shreds. For long range I'll just install the Infra-Knife even without Corvette extra tech. Installing corvette Photon Cannon tech is a waste of time and space.

Just checked my freighter storage...I am happy to say I still have some maxed Positron Ejector modules floating around. I didn't keep many of those as for most normal ships I mostly main Infra-Knife with a support weapon or two. But for Corvettes going with Positron Ejector and Infra-Knife with no support weapons seems to be the way to go.
I know this sounds ridiculous but wish I could see what it looks like built before finalizing. I got tons of different parts from ambassador and titan build. I mean lots and lots

The question then is how often the fights are actually long range. When it comes to dogfights it usually is face to face, so it should be useful.. but for piracy good accuracy is needed to cut the cargo modules instead of blowing up freighters

The thing is Corvettes have by far the best potential or boost speed in combat...probably too much in fact as you can waste 20+ slots on pulse drive alone. So closing to shotgun distance should be no problem...it's not a problem or any of my current maxed ships and Corvettes will be better.

The trading system is worthless. Half the parts you have you can't even try to trade and what you CAN try to trade gives nothing towards the trade. The best I could do was like a 40% chance and that was putting in like 10 parts in there.
It seems like the Corvette living wall is broken. I planted 2 Nipnip buds, and got 2 back when harvesting

It’s an ongoing bug they need to fix where some parts don’t show
I usually just use them if possible, or sell it
The trick is that you can infinitely harvest them without having to plant again. You won't make a profit on the first harvest but anything after that will be profitable.

Try placing a base part behind it first then place it, and put the part behind it back cause you’ll have to remove it
the visuals look like all plants get harvested at once, but you need to go and harvest them one by one
No. And this is the same for all the plants you can grow. Once planted they will keep re-growing unless you destroy the plant.

Is it normal to not be able to switch to ship inventory when at a vendor? is it a corvette thing or am I missing something
u should just be able to swap your docked ship in the quick menu
What "vendor"? If you are at a space station or on the anomaly you can back out of your conversation, change ships, then talk to the vendor again. But at trade outposts it's more involved as you'll have to call a different ship somewhere...probably on the ground outside the outpost.
But you should be able to switch to the inventory of your currently active ship.

Problem is hitting ships...projectiles have some homing to them where they will bend slightly to hit their targets but the beam is straight and pinpoint while enemies never stay still. Keeping that beam on them is a nightmare.

Depends for what. But Corvettes are souped up haulers...their biggest bonus is to shields and shield modules gain next to nothing from being supercharged. You're better off splitting your SC slots to invest in other parts...1 to main shield tech, 1 or 2 to main weapon(Infra Knife probably the best use), and what remains to hyperdrive is generally what I intend to do.

You've burned our crops and poisoned our water supply!
You don't have to worry about that. Corvettes get an insane amount of pulse drive tech...you can blow 20 tech slots on it if you want but that's excessive even without supercharging any of it.

I like optimizing where I can feel it. Using SC slots where they can be felt is better. Corvettes suffer for damage...1 or 2 into Infra-Knife is a good idea. And some to hyperdrive too.

Nah, damage is not an issue. For me, my main corvette has 200 damage potential but it still kills ships incredibly fast with the laser and the shotgun in combination, can even destroy freighter shields in like 10 seconds flat

Ship damage rating is meaningless because it keeps going up and up as you install more weapons but installing more weapons does not increase the damage each do beyond what their modules and the base ship bonus before upgrades adds.

hmm.. anyone figured what Ceto-class reactor synergizes with? Medusas work with cockpit, azimuth with landing gear, but Ceto doesnt seem to highlight next to anything, I tried most if not all systems
Ceto gives shield bonus so it should synergize with other shield tech but if not the 3 will connect with each other. And since Corvettes get the biggest shield bonus possible for a ship you should install all shield tech.

By adding 2 or 3 of the reactor that goes with the stats you want, and at least 3 thrusters pretty much
Docking at a freighter is hilarious if the corvette is big
Most of the types of things add technology to the inventory for the first three that you add, that technology stacks with standard starship upgrades

We do not know when 6.04 will release, but it should have some further fixes
They have a fairly modest damage bonus of only 20-30% at S class and don't get extra tech for the best weapon so they'll never shine as fighters, they get the biggest bonus possible to shields and get a decent if not spectacular hyperdrive bonus of up to 58% at S class. So I would install and connect all the shield tech I could, and I'd install the Infra Knife as main weapon even without it getting extra tech and give it a super-charged slot or two. And I'd max its hyperdrive too with another SC slot or two.
I believe that is something fixed in the patch
Thankfully there is no best weapon and this isn't a sole space combat sim
Though I do hope for other weapons to be glued to corvettes soon
but it may make them objectively better than other starships

I mean...a maxed Infra-Knife does damage in the hundreds of thousands and photon cannon in the tens. There are definite levels there and Photon Cannon is one of the weakest.

50k is pretty weak for an Infra-Knife setup. In my experience the Infra-Knife shreds a lot faster than Photon Cannon.
Infra just does the most to freighter hulls, photon cannon is balanced as heck and cyclotron pauses ship engines

You can't judge a ship's potential at C class. A maxed explorer with ideal SC slot layout will cover 3740ly per jump...but a maxed freighter without any SC slots can cover over 5000ly per jump. A Corvette won't beat the explorer but should do over 2500ly with a SC slot or two.

Supercharged slots give another slot for +4 but idk where that slot goes

more annoyingly, when the inventory bugs out and most of the corvette modules disappear, you lose slots that you unlocked using augments/units until they reappear after saving+reloading

this as happened to me, when youre building a lot, and you remove stuff from the ship, it tends to put the parts in your pockets, meaning there is nowhere for the parts to go...

or gamble in barter for advanced parts. Most important with bartering for advanced is that you can try once for each unique offer, so when I got parts I did not care about I tried one after another, even with <10% chance

First 3 reactors count as tech, further ones are purely cosmetic
Follow those instructions to have the technology register the 3 reactors and not the cockpit as tech

Most likely unrelated to rotation, just slight variance in the numbers for each one, similar to upgrade modules
You can just enable creative mode, make your corvette exactly like you want it, switch back lol
Sometimes you hit finalize and engines and weapons will simply disappear
