#Ollama in Discord not working

I have upgraded from 4.23 to 5.6 and now Ollama isn't working any more in Discord. It works flawlessly in Telegram and in Whatsapp and cloud models from Anthropic for example, work perfectly fine in Discord. It's just Ollama that's not working anymore.

I've tried many things:

  • increasing the time out
  • I have changed the way the message behaves, like if it gets streamed or sent partially
    I have changed models so I've tried small models, larger models

And funnily enough with the update Ollama is working a lot faster on Telegram, for example. It's like real-time conversation, which never happened before.

Are you able to send messages to your bot through a DM? If yes, then you need to enter this command in your CLI: openclaw config set messages.groupChat.visibleReplies automatic

In a recent patch this got changed to a different value that prevented responses to groupchats by default. If you want Discord server support, then run the command but be aware that if someone were to find and add your bot to their server they would be able to chat with it and potentially do some harm to your machine
