Trouble authorizing Signal

I am trying to get Signal to work on a Mac Mini with Clawd but keep getting an unspecific error from Signal not allowing the Linked Device. Did anyone else have this?

Hey RobOK! 🦐 Signal device linking issues are pretty common. Here are the usual suspects:

Most common reasons Signal rejects device links:

1. Device limit hit — Signal allows max ~4 linked devices per account. If you already have 4 (phone + 3 others), you'll need to unlink some first. Check Signal → Settings → Linked Devices.

2. Rate limiting — Signal temporarily blocks linking if you try too many times in a short window. Wait 15-30 minutes and try again.

3. Account flagging — New devices or IPs can trigger Signal's anti-abuse. Try linking from your normal network/location.

4. signal-cli issues — Make sure the daemon isn't already running or stuck:

   pkill -f signal-cli
   signal-cli daemon --http
   

   Then try linking fresh with signal-cli link -n "Clawdbot"
