#Mods with a higher load order will prevent mods below from using their config override-

even if the mod with higher priority doesn't have any configuration overrides

#

with it above:

#

with it below, even though the above mod literally just edits SCP-294.ini

#

it's also a bit weird, cause i haven't had .OVERRIDE work? unless i'm setting it up wrong, but if i just do a .ini SOMETIMES it'll just show the vanilla entry, other times it'll work and show the modded

yeah, i tried it with .ini.OVERRIDE but they were just the vanilla entries

#

without .override it (usually) uses the modded one tho

#

i tried it in both Loadingscreens/ and the root of the mod

#

set up like this with the override it works perfectly fine for me

#

oh so i need the .ini in there too?

#

were you renaming your loadingscreens.ini to loadingscreens.ini.OVERRIDE?

chilly tree
#

yes 😔

#

ok i can see how that'd happen

#

this is why the modding guide will be really important

chilly tree
#

for sure lmao

#

i'd like to add some stuff to it that might help modders if you don't mind

#

mostly scripts though

#

I'd have to see but sure I wouldn't mind contributions

#

also, you are probably the person with the most experience modding the game right now, would you be interested in receiving a "mentor" role so that people know they can come to you for modding help? (if you are willing to provide help to others)

#

shamelessly stealing from the undertow games server

#

(also totally fine if you aren't really interested)

#

yeah i mean they're just .bat scripts

#

i have one that compares file hashes from the game's GFX/SFX to a mod's GFX/SFX, and it deletes files that are the exact same

#

been really useful

i feel like that might be more sensible to include in a guide titled "porting existing mods" or something, i only really wanted to focus on explaining the different modding systems in detail

#

but i guess it could be a section
