Tracearr version 1.4.24
Running on Docker for QNAP

I have entered my external url as http and it is setup using cloudflare
When I go to the Mobile settings on the webui I get the QRCode and I ahve the app on the mobile and go to ad device on webui
iPhone captures the code and says failed to connect.
I have tried it manually but when I click on copy the pair token I get failed to copy on my MAC - which is strange. but I then tried CTRL-C and that copied it and pasted into the token field on the phone but again I get
Cannot reach server: Check URL and network connection.

on your PC browser, are you accessing tracearr via the external url or the internal url?

#

if you clear the External URL setting, and just access tracearr from the public facing URL, the QR generator will use the URL you are accessing it from to give to the mobile app

terse cairn
#

Hi I am accessing the tracearr via the internal network

weary wasp
#

ok

#

and what value are you putting in for External URL ?

#

you said http in your first message, but im assuming its actually https if you use cloudflare?

terse cairn
#

No its http

#

should it be https ?

weary wasp
#

it should be the url that cloudflare enables it to be. usually thats https

#

i would really need to know your cloudflare setup

terse cairn
#

Actually I just changed it there to https and scanned the qrcode and it sems to have worked - very strange as earlier it would fail

#

Even though it still says on the web ui that it is pending awaiting pairing token

#

Ah now its all good

#

but just to note while I changed it to https on the web ui setting - inmy cloudflare account I have it at http

weary wasp
#

i dont know why you would ever want to use cloudflare with http, but you do you

#

unless you mean cloudflares internal url to reach tracearr?

#

the flow from the internet should be: https://tracerr_external_domain > cloudflare > http://tracearr_internal_domain.
so you have to configure the External URL as https

terse cairn
#

No it should be https but in this instance i was trying both as they were failing - all good again now though under https

weary wasp
#

ok

terse cairn
#

have no idea why it started to work all of a sudden - granted I moved to a different room compared to earlier

weary wasp
#

it must have known we were talking about it

terse cairn
#

Any idea what status code 502 is for ?

weary wasp
#

bad gateway

#

it means cloudflare cant reach your backend

terse cairn
#

hmmm - thats what I am getting now on the mobile app when i re-opened the app

#

is it related to permissions ?

weary wasp
#

look, id love to help but in order to do that i need to know a hell of a lot more information about your entire setup and you so far have not provided anything.

terse cairn
#

Oh apologies

#

What do you need ?

weary wasp
#

lets start with what the bot asked you in the first message. your compose file, some logs, and then i need to know what you set External URL to, and what your cloudflare setup looks like

#

keep in mind this is a public thread

#

you can DM me something private if you dont want to disclose it

terse cairn
#

ok, I am a newbie and have been trying to learn - granted I am 60 years old and suffer from brainfog - so please be patient with me

#

I have the tracearr debug page open - what logs you require?
I am running on Docker Station for QNAP
Tracearr version is v1.4.24

weary wasp
#

is there a "download all" button for the logs?

terse cairn
#

Oh sorry I sent you a DM but hang on looking there now

#

yes

weary wasp
#

so, that one

#

doin pretty good for 60 mate, age is just a number

terse cairn
#

ok so download all and stored in a zip file

#

So I was just scanning through the tracearr-error.log and can see onConnectTimeoutError which always seems to be an issue for me - permissions always happening for some reason

weary wasp
#

Righto

weary wasp
#

hows those logs coming along?

terse cairn
#

Sorry, was ill for a while but I have sorted it now I think - many thanks.
