It’s even better when you realize that a S rank plays with no slider breaks can be completely fucked by one another depending on how early/late any 100s are into the map, since the earlier into a combo, the less they’re worth so they take off less score

You can potentially have a play with like 8 100s near the start but end with a better score than a play with only 2 100s near the end, disregarding spinners

aside from that it’s just sr and od (up to 8.4) that influence performance outside of mods

Idk if standard has length bonus for objects or not like taiko does, but otherwise it’s the same except without the od cap and with ar/cs included I believe. Though one of these influences sr which is why sr increases with hr, and I’m not exactly sure which it is. Last I checked it wasn’t ar, so maybe it’s cs? shrug

I guess the two modes differ on how they manage combo breaks. I think taiko is just like -1% pp for each break or something, not including the pp reduction from acc that comes with it, while standard yeets pp due to combo being more heavily scaled idk

but breaks/acc don’t influence the base pp you can get from a map, it’s just however much of that you actually get while playing

then try to alt first and foremost by playing low star dt maps that'd otherwise required you to singletap like 140, 150 bpm instead of immediately jumping into 190bpm burst maps or whatever
