#A Idea to make the mount system better

The current implementation of mounts is very rough currently and because of the unreasonable time investmeant you probaly have a mythic before a decent mount to use, not even talking about it if you want to max it

here are a few sugestions I came up with to make the system more worthile to use

  • remove the limit on the mount stats I don't know why we need 2 stats to limit how much you can level the mount

  • energy now only gives a boost to training, you will not get a movespeed penalty or can't pick up training items anymore if you run out of energy

  • feeding increases the max, properly balance the cooldown that it will not take years to max 1 mount

  • breeding will always just add the 2 stats together of the parents so its easy to understand how the stats function

1 time a week you can go on a mission where you can find a high max mount in the wild and capture it to use for breeding

mounts devinitly should not be kept as a pyramid system to level up the stats, because that goes way out of hand way to fast and does not give any good feeling of progression

changing the feeding mechanics also means you can keep your favorite mount to the end, name it and bond with it isntead of it cosntnatly getting repalced by breeding, and if you just want fast progression you can use the wild one to mix

you do 3 thing training feeding breeding so 3 stats. that's why

ye i dont like the breeding either, i gambled 30 dragons for a nice one

#

i dont want it to be replaced by a yellow one with tusk horns

like a do we really need to force all 3 on people?

yeah i didn't question your understanding of the system but it's hard to justify doing the activity if you remove the corresponding stat

the mount progression already has deminishing returns with a curve and than adding a pyramid leveling up system adds another diminishing returns ontop of it, no system needs 2 ways to prevent you from progressing

Bruh the mount system is so ass to play who greenlit this. Literally a day in and there's already multiple feedbacks about how awful it feels :(

100% agree with all of this, good suggestion

The mounts are such a step back

Idea for mounts v3, revert to mounts v1 and just add wyverns,

You can also tell no play testing was done as the horses head is way to big

No, right now I genuinely feel that while the new system looks awesome and the flying is cool, gameplay wise the new system is worse than the old, outside the cool factor wyverns are minimally useful with the altitude issue as they can’t fly over the terrain thay should be the best at traversing and horses while faster, they are harder to control and toughness kicking you off the horse when hit makes travel a pain and then the acceleration being so slow allows the mobs that just knocked you off to respawn and do it again, I feel like the different stats play into each others weakness to make a system that’s achally worse than the sum of its parts, ofc I think some tweaks can make it better but realistically make stats needs total reconsideration is they add fun or fun channenge or just add frustration and annoyance.

and wdym by the horses head is too big, seems fine to me

horses being faster sure, but they dont feel fun to use, the slow acceleration combined with being hit off makes them somewhat annoying, wyverns are cool but altitude really kills them, ofc with tweaks it can be better than old, to reach the new systems full potential i feel toughness, altitude need to be removed, energy needs reworking to only affect training and acceleration needs to start off much higher, feels like it should be like the breeding, exponential fast at first then it tapers off,

breeding also needs major rework, it cant stay exponetially more work / cost for exponetially less gain, the double exponential is killing it as its just too long to get any decently high level mount rn

# tawdry dock i still dont think the system before was better, since we didnt have dragons the...

Slower at full gallop, faster in practice. Also objectively far far far far worse as a mount for newer players since you are so egregiously disincentivized from stopping in any capacity and admiring the world around you. Giving a new player a mount at lvl 13 that punishes them dramatically for pausing and enjoying the world is an incredibly poor design choice. I don't know how else to put it or sugar coat it, I genuinely cannot fathom how anyone thought "lets make the tool you use to avoid combat and travel fast be affected by combat and not travel fast" would be a good idea.

Wyvern models are cool though, I assume the shitty mechanics is because it's Minecraft base code and there's only so much you can do
