Toxoplasmosis is a really bad mythic, and it doesn't help that it can't be offhanded by another Earth mythic because aftershock is low leveled. Heres some suggestions that might fix it:

  1. Healing reduction Major ID.
    Toxo has a major id that grants healing reduction. An issue with toxo is that right now, it does too low of a base dps to be considered for single target. Something like healing reduction would be very good for bosses that tend to heal alot, like annihilation or orphion. This shouldnt be a requirement, but perhaps, this allows bosses to have increased healing in the future, something dangerous requiring dps, but allowing toxo to contribute something.

  2. Poison Detonation.
    Toxo has an issue where the weapon cannot be suitable for defense and offensive purposes due to not requiring the least bit of main attack or spell damage to deal max damage. Something like this could change it, where a % of your main attack damage will detonate poison damage, causing it to instantly tick. This can also factor into weapon attackspeed, just like lifesteal and manasteal. This at least grants more creativity in builds, but be careful as making primarily hmelee could close more doors than it can open.

  3. Focused single target Major ID.
    Plague major id is very niche, and poison builds got kind of destroyed. To fix this, plague could be changed to where instead, poison you use will hit the first enemy it sees with an extra multiplier (could be based off earth damage%) and it will spread to nearby enemies after that, but at the same time diffusing the poison. This nerfs the AOE of toxo while making it single target compatible. To make this balanced, nerf toxo's overall poison and grant it this new Major ID. Plague should only trigger on main attack, as aura with this would be too dangerous.

Poison itself being reworked would be a bigger change than changing the poison mythic. If toxo finally has a niche with either or all of these options, the rest of the 4 classes and hundreds of poison items would still fail to have that niche.

From these 3 options, I like the healing reduction one, as you could make earth shaman have an utility option in some of the more single target focused bosses (while shaman itself has limited single target options)

or you could just give it 600 earth base dps so its an actual option. You can also do something like a major id that increases your poison by 10% for every 10 strength, sorta like ascendency.

I think they should just give toxo actual base damage until they can rework poison, the extra poison damage is max what like 100k dps

hot take but i dont think all mythics should be "end game viable"

toxo has its own special place in the ingridient grinding niche and i think its fine there

some of these ideas are cool and though could be nice on some fabled (or even new mythic) weapons

a mythic should have a use outside of ingredient grinding, those more specific niches are literally what fableds are for 🙏

disco is a chestplate and theres a reason its the only mythic chesplate, it specifically is not designed to give combat states, toxo has damage, used to be ok until people realized "hey poison is stupid and lazy let's gut it" and now the only reason it has any use is because that's all poison can do

my problem with toxo is that it being a gimmick means that the spot it takes in the mythic spectrum (mono earth relik) should have been taken by aftershock instead (which is the low level relik). if aftershock was the mono earth relik at level, it would have been more prevalent, while toxo would have been in a more deserving spot

no, the whole point of disco is that it's the only outlier because the game is built around combat and as the person above me said, a mythic slot should not be taken up by something with as small of a niche as mob grinding which is an incredibly small aspect of the game where pretty much every other mythic is useful in some end game content and the ones that aren't don't suffer from an inherent design issue imo
