#Make rare items Dark Green and crafted items Dark Blue

With the removal of set items... I think rare items should be dark green instead... This is for many reasons but first and more importantly due to the very simaler colors of mythics and rare items. (while we are at it, crafted items should also be adressed) I think each rarity should have very distinct colors from eachother.
I think changing rare items to green instead of pink would allow people to tell them apart at a glance. Since even with the new ui light purple and dark purple are very simaler color wise. (Also Crafted items should be made dark blue) (could be orange but I fear its to simaler to yellow)
Changing rare from light purple to dark green and craft items from dark aqua to dark blue would fix these issues.

There has long been an issue getting rare drops and confusing it with mythics... (or dropping a mythic and confusing for a rare item, ie new players) (Also for lootrunning and finding boxed mythics and rare items)
(tell people colorblind, or people with poor sight to spot the difference expesially for boxes)
Reason I suggest dark green is because people with red green colour blindness find will be less likely to confuse light red and dark green)

TLDR the 5 main reasons why I suggest this change are

  1. By making each rarity have a vastly distinct color, it would be easier for most people to tell apart mythics and rare items at a glance without needing to double check.** (IE BOXES)**
  2. Would reduce the confusion between these rarities from new players, and the effort of looking at rare items incase they are mythic.
  3. Would midagate issues with color blindness and poor sight.
  4. By having them be different shades, they can be distignushed easier. (the shades of pink and purple for rare and mythics are very simaler, font wise)
  5. With set items gone, green as a color is now open. Meaning either rare or crafted items should probably have the color... As they both are simaler to other rarities. (crafted items honestly should be a dark blue, since right now they are dark aqua, in contrast to legendary items, light aqua tint) (dark blue is very different from light aqua and dark purple)

i think all rarities should be colourblind friendly

currently pink and purple are to simaler color wise for many people to tell apart... (and people have been complaining about this for years)

wait they're getting rid of set items?

#

how am I gonna find sufficient gear in the market if I have to use my brain to find good gear combos myself?

I like gear Sets 🙁

they will become items of other rarities... IE be redistributed to unique rare and legendary

They are a little similar but I wouldn't call it colorblind unfriendly, they have competely different borders

as much as I don't really like the color green for items, I think this is a reasonable ask

im color blind and this is bad for me cuz yellow and green look the same please dont do this

#

For actual feedback i dont think this would work since fableds are red and theres also a lot of colorblind ppl with red green blindness you cant really fix the boxes being seen at a glance for all all color blind ppl and atleast mythics are rare to the point that it rarely happens and most of the time ppl will be using wynntils

#

Also changing that would just mess with peoples muscle memory

#

I do think rare should be changed maybe but not to green

#

They could also add an anti valuables dropping feature by default like hypixel skyblock to prevent ppl from dropping mythics in the first place

# vague ravine I do think rare should be changed maybe but not to green

which color would you suggest then? orange would be simaler to yellow... all other colors besides black are already fufilled.
Also peoples muscle memories are already screwed when it comes to identifiying rare from mythics... (we have tools that notify us that they show up, because the colors are simaler and you can easily not notice the color in the sea of pink within chests)
Only other option I can think of is keep rare pink and make mythics black... (which would probably be very unpopular)

i do agree about yellow vs green if the green is a light green, but if it is a dark green then you can tell by brightness, even if you cant identify the color

#

(mixing yellow and light green up, is the red-green (deuter) colorblindness thing, because you see more green and yellow is right next to light green.)

a lot of colorblind ppl play games with this types of systems

i mean i have red green colorblindness and yea i have issues with distinguishing with rare/mythic boxes at a glance but even then I do not think rare suits the "green palette" at all if it was up to me I would just make mythic purple a lot more deeper and darker shade. and lighten up pink a lot. it helps distinguish these two for me.

#

please do not make rare items green that would fuck up so many returning players

Make rare items green and crafted items darker

#

overall I am of the opinion rare and crafted items should have more unique colors.. But people will complain about that since its change... Sigh

errant cave
#

which is why I say make rare green since its no longer taken... and crafted darker... (either still teal or dark blue)

fast grotto
#

i won't mind having to adapt to that since it would help ppl who cannot avoid having that issue

errant cave
#

orange is too simaler to yellow sadly

fast grotto
#

ahh yeah

errant cave
#

maybe... I just worry its to simaler.

#

Difference is dark blue and light blue are argubly 2 the most different a single color gets... (it generally gets 2 words per languages for a reason)

#

or maybe a simbol for crafted items?

obsidian thunder
#

i mean genuinely my main issue is the shades are a bit similar especially the auras i dont see the point of completely changing it. why not just make the shade darker for mythics and lighter for rares

errant cave
errant cave
#

ie light pink is simaler to white

obsidian thunder
#

im not saying it to make it that bright. you can easily go way darker for mythics lol

like having something at the end that indicates a crafted

obsidian thunder

it just feels like an unnecessary change that stirs up confusion

and i dont think saying "we made rare items green" will be enough during the changelog your brain WILL think rare items are still pinkish purple as they are in most games

idk like im genuinely colorblind thats quite literally the only issue i have right now. i dont think anyone will be too butt hurt for them making mythics a shade darker lol

(it could be argued that depending on the execution, patterns may just create more noise and be distracting overall. but these are just examples made in 5s)

a patterned background obvious enough to be useful for accessibility will make the text harder to read

I agree an icon could be added for each rarity in the top right for even more user friendlyness but each should also be a distinct color.
