you would still need to set up marks and nck, and also manage vanish and being generally not very tanky outside of vanish

I agree, i love shade, its my favorite archetype
the burst will either be bad and spam will be preferred or they have to overbuff the fuck out of the burst so its degenerate
if they make the setup take long to do its either awful to play if it takes too long or it has to do absurd damage to make up for it (in which case its not healthy)
Sadly it is, for me its the coolest archetype :(
the other way to fix it is to make the bursts closer together
maybe end of tree stuff has faster mark application and satsu can be used more freely?
3-5s between big hit-and-run attacks sounds fun to me at least

but they add backstab amp dmg
yeah but this time with a little mana sustain built in
if they change harvester to mana gain every nc attack is will really nice
ok but hypothetically what stops u from just continuing to attack instead of running away

and current shade play doesn't fit thematically (apart from hmelee)
and not increasing the damage makes it close range no heals LB
and hit and run on a shorter cooldown isn't feasible
then what is a possible solution even where can shade even go
just keep it like it is right now 😭
marks only cleanse off a satsu or knives but satsu has a 15sec cd and knives last 40 sec so whats stopping you from just spamming to get marks back and just stabbing the entire time
my point is i just dont see the vision and how they can make this playstyle work without it being 🥴
well they obv don't want to do that so they're going to try their hardest to find a balanced alternative
especially when hmelee shade is like right there and does what they would want shade to do

hmelee shade should be the really slow thermonuclear bomb option
spellshade should be more heavy spell, with the bursts being rate limited by mark buildup
granted, I've not played shadestepper in a while and I almost never play glass at all
but the thing is mark build up gets sped up by spamming
I have tried shade though, post nck buff and stuff
and I played hmelee animosity shade almost exclusively for several months straight a little while back
i know they for sure have more changes in mind so its probably fair to wait and see what they do but im just expressing design concerns rn
they cant do anything about it rn

ngl shade in its current state is pretty weird
it doesnt accomplish what the archetype is made to do
hopefully these changes push it in the right direction

yeah I also think I like this direction for the most part
tbh i feel like any abilities that proc on a kill should just be reworked, they are kinda fundamentally inconsistent in a game like wynn
I just hope they manage to make it work well
Shade changes would be nice if they buffed the damage from satsujin even a little bit more
