Hello I think there should be some interaction between Flashfreeze and Sentient Snake that isn't just "ignore sentien snake"

(maybe that's smth like it no longer has to travel horizontally or the snakes move but just faster (initial length is instant as it would be without sentient snakes, but then they shoot forward like they normally would but farther (with less wiggle cause frozen))

or maybe smth that makes more sense idk.

downvoting this because ice snake having travel time is a direct downgrade to the spell and this would slightly nerf sentient snake flashfreeze users for no reason

never in my life have I ever wanted to use the sentient snake function of being able to move your ice snake around slightly

ice snake already has travel time. flash freeze removes this. my suggestion was to have the current range be instant but have it travel beyond that at some speed

ice snake has not a very big hitbox up or down. this means timelock is a direct nerf to ice snake which is a little weird too. this would give some way for players to not have this happen

idk almost no one takes sentient snake because the node's primary function is just completely useless (to my knowledge)

if you're taking sentient snake it's either because you have to or because you want the ice snake damage increase

I'm sure someone smarter will come up with something but as of rn I can't think of any flashfreeze/sentient snake interaction that would actually make sentient snake any more worth picking than it is rn

in fact I'm kind of worried that the interaction will make it less worth picking because flashfreeze and sentient snake do completely opposite things

there's like 3 people who love sentient snake/snake nest and run it on every class and swear up and down about how good it is but no one else has ever given it any consideration

the first proposed solution would not make anyone less interested in taking flash freeze and sentient snake (it is really just a buff to current state with no drawbacks)

might be interesting but that seems like something that should be added to base ice snake

if you're in the air you can cast snake downwards, similar to how you can cast multihit in all directions (with that one assassin node)

unfortunately that probably won't help out ice snake as a whole either because ice snake is genuinely a horrible spell rn and it's only use is building winded

Sentient Snake moves around as you control it. A possible sentient Snake + flash freeze combination would be to have the snakes dynamically path so that they hit the most enemies in their path, but that feels like it would be complicated to code and having a snake with its own path generation might make people very upset who are trying to snipe a mob in the distance and their ice snake just veers to the left dramatically or something

Maybe the snake moves left or right within a 3 block lane of your straight line forward, intentionally moving closer to mobs and hitting them where it would otherwise miss, making sure you will hit your intended target in the worst case scenario, but allowing the snake to intelligently swerve left and right within your targeting lane to hit as many mobs as possible??
