#Please Give All Bosses and Mini-Bosses CCI

Crowd Control effects are for crowds, not for single enemies.

If an encounter is designed around a single enemy and that enemy isn't immune to CC, then at best it just means the fight is trivialized, and at worst it means you spend the entire encounter chasing after an enemy being bounced around by your own [parties] attacks.

Bosses and mini-bosses being affected by Crowd Control is purely a negative for the game, and leaving all pre-2.1(?) bosses with no CCI is hurting the enjoyability of those fights significantly.

Please just go through and give them all CCI.

cci benefits some classes and hurts others, I dont think a blanket cci change would be healthy

AT having a number of abilities that suck to use against mobs who are not immune to their knockback is an ability problem not a mob problem

I will be quite honest and say this is not going to happen for the aforementioned reason.

#

Supposing all knockback on the AT is bad, even then it would be a better solution to remove all of it than to slap a special immunity indicator on every boss mob.

knockback has its place as being a good form of crowd control but that crowd control shouldn't be being applied to boss monsters in a way that just bounces them silly around the arena

manic carbon
#

The current way mobs can mitigate knockback, blinding and slowness aren't great

#

Mobs already a have a knockback resistance but because of the way it works, it doesn't affect all knockback

#

And the immunity system of a mob being fully susceptible to a form of crowd control and then being immune for X seconds does not really feel great to play against

candid trellis

#

There's knockback resistance which all mobs have but doesn't apply to all knockback

#

(something something vertical knockback is unaffected (?) )

#

And there's immunities, which are the things you see in nameplates

candid trellis
#

i understand it for (some) debuffs but for knockback it would just feel wonky i think

manic carbon
#

And they work by allowing that form of cc to work once and then the mob is immune for X seconds

#

The mob team and ability tree team have talked about this some time ago

#

For knockback and slowness, the most useful solution we think is just giving mobs the ability to have the effects tuned down % wise

#

i. e., a big boss could have 95% knockback resistance and 60% slowness resistance, which means a 50% slow effect would only slow them down for 20%

#

something more problematic is blindness because blindness is being handed out very liberally by the AT in some ways, but that's a different topic

#

crowd control resistances could use an improvement, we've talked with devs about it, not sure when it'll happen

But this then results in a bit of an issue where they can stack and it'd be possible to have a boss permanently blinded

Asking about removing CCI from most of bosses to adding it back? Now that's a parkour

candid trellis
#

or just make the per mob cooldown global

manic carbon
#

blindness isn't gradual

#

it makes the mob unable to have a target, which means 0.2 of blindness and 0.0 seconds of blindness are a world of difference

#

every the shortest amount of blindness that isn't 0.0 seconds can heavily negate a mob's behaviour

Maybe make upwards kb shoot you down if you are above a certain height? Tho that can have some issues

median tangle
manic carbon

but for things like blindness you can't just do "a little bit of blindness"

chance to miss 😏

manic carbon
#

your honor, it's okay I only did "a little bit of murder"

"if agility is so good, then why there isn't agility 2?"

on top, blindness is sort of like invulnerability-frames-lite

#

it would still royally mess up acrobats if the 1s of blind they expect to get to escape suddenly barely exists

I guess blindness resist would have to be the only CCI that only has true/false
