Yes, I am aware Wynntils says not to ask Wynncraft devs to bring this back. I am also aware this thread has been posted before, but it didn’t gain much traction, so I guess I'm trying to bring it up again.

With the removal of gear data being sent by the server, owning cool rolls/items feels less valuable than ever. When queuing raids (or even just finding people in cities) it was always fun to see what other people were using, whether it was builds or some crazy items that people spent forever grinding (or just got lucky) for. The only way to really show items now is to intentionally post them in chat which just feels kind of weird.

I know enabling something that specifically affects a 3rd party mod is not a priority, but honestly I would recommend this being a server feature rather than a mod feature. It could be toggleable to allow those who don't want their builds/items to be leaked. Originally Wynntills would always show your build/items unless you used the hide armor from Silverbull. Having a toggle would bring the best of both worlds, allowing the player to decide if they want to show their build/items instead of it being leaked by Wynntills like it was before.

Also why was this removed in the first place after all of these years due to bandwidth reasons especially during a monetization update to generate more income for the server 😭

I make no promises, but I'm looking into just integrating this into Wynntils via Hades so you will only be able to share it with friends/party members. But first I'm getting Hades to work with guild members as it's always been meant to was just never implemented.

The option to share will be off by default so those who don't want to share won't have to worry

mate people gatekeep builds is because they made it themselves and rightfully are allowed to keep it secret, they need no reason beyond that

the community is (for the most part) very open about sharing build strategies and how to make good crafts

the resources are out there, forcing people to give up their private builds will not help the noobs

Guild builds are pretentious for no reason, and are rarely strictly better than the more popular builds in my experience

The idea of “private” builds in general is silly when if someone REALLY wants to find your build they can anyway within a certain margin, excluding crafted gear

the difference is you are playing minecraft and your 'rival company' copying it doesn't actually do anything either to you. They can't make their tower kill your build specifically, it just means they might war a little easier

People complain about this as if tons of other games where you can see your opponents every detail don't make you equal.

They still have to learn how to play at the same level, figure out how the build interacts with the spells, and actually obtain the gear (at good rolls)

Just seeing what gear you have isn't an instant win condition

those games have a very high skill cap and everyone plays at different levels but 99% of Wynn's builds you can just click buttons in mostly the right order and you'll do just as well as everyone else

Won't do sharing without rolls, bit too much effort for what it's worth to do it nicely and to do it easily makes it more easily abuseable

I'll probably do an @everyone when the version with it comes out and put a poll to vote on the default settings but for now sharing will be off
