#Bonfire Cosmetics this year is not scrappable with the Bonfire cosmetics last year

Bonfire cosmetics in the past has a tag of Bonfire, while the bonfire cosmetics this year are tagged Fiery Bonfire, making them unscrappable together.

If the content team decides that they do not want to update some of the old cosmetics, but rather just leave them unobtainable, then at least give me the option to scrap this warrior hood (It's ugly).

yeah its intentional

Even adding a discard function could be better

you wanna just. delete cosmetics? for no gain?

I personally think that splitting the cosmetics into different crates is a good thing to have done, even if it means that the scrapping can only be done within their respective event crates

#

if they kept adding more to the already existing crates it would be so unreasonably clogged that getting a cosmetic you wanted just wouldnt be feasible anymore

silent gull
# silent gull assuming

that a person has 2 unwanted cosmetic in each tier. That adds up to 8 outdated cosmetics occupying /scrap and wardrobe page everytime you want to switch between cosmetics

#

Even if it is intentional, it would be nice if i can throw away some of the cosmetics given that they can no longer be useful in other ways

tawdry oyster
#

I dont see any benefit in being able to just delete cosmetics for nothing in return

#

aside from just aesthetic gripes

silent gull
#

yeah but I don't want to see this extra hood and beret everytime i am trying to change my helmet

#

the more stuff displayed, the messier it gets

silent gull
#

I do hope that wynncraft could consider updating some of these old one tho

#

this is like the best way for the players who had them

junior vessel
#

Also i think they’re re-releasing the old bonfire stuff in crates

Unrelated

Just not everything

silent gull
#

yeah but not most of the old bonfires

junior vessel

Can you favorite cosmetics?

deep needle
#

I would also like to know if the old bonfire cosmetics will ever be able to be properly scrapped, or will eventually be updated over to the fiery bonfire cosmetics

errant kayak
#

My favorite cosmetic this update was the cosmetic LE I had saved up without knowing it wouldn't be enough for silverbull

junior vessel
#

Maybe thats what this feedback post should be, the option to manually favorite cosmetics and those favorited cosmetics show up at the front

Like, I’m in the same boat of not liking the warrior hood, and I’d love to get rid of it for a godly cosmetic of the same festival cosmetic

junior vessel

I’d love for it to be updated, but, I’d also like to be able to scrap it to get one of the godly weapon skins from previous festival

Wynncraft team ignores every monetization suggestion from the players

copper glacier
#

No but hear me out: mythic reroll tokens!! Rerolls your mythic into a new mythic!! 5 tokens for 1 share!! Can bypass class reqs, for example you could reroll a dawnbreak into a lament!!!

silent gull

Wouldn't it be funny if the team added some random untradable mythic stick with 1 dps and no IDs that drops from mobs at a 1/1 000 000 000 rate

Not to include old cosmetics in the current crates

dapper mirage

scrap old cosmetics for old cosmetics, scrap new ones for new ones

#

the old crates will be sold on the store later in the festival (not sure why they arent sold right now)

junior vessel

Look im not opposed to it being done this way, the monetization thing was a joke regarding recent events

open pumice
junior vessel
#

It makes me sad that we’re arguing about the least problematic microtransaction in the game

open pumice
#

either way old cosmetics have been effectively locked behind a paywall
and it's not like previous years where old cosmetics went out of ratation, now ALL old cosmetics went out of rotation. so you can only get this year's cosmetics

#

all of this would not be an issue if you could just scrap new cosmetics with the old ones
but because you can't do that you HAVE to buy crates if you want to get old cosmetics which might be majority of festival cosmetics

sorry for wanting to keep the lights on..?

junior vessel

Bruh bedrock servers are so much worse lol

#

Thats like if wynncraft had a SE/fruma paywall

dapper mirage

i dont think you understand how much it costs to keep the servers up now with all the new mob model stuff and the constant server upgrades

thorn snow
#

speaking of this, do we know when are the old crates coming back?

open pumice
# dapper mirage sorry for wanting to keep the lights on..?

in the past people literally wanted to donate to wynncraft and were turned down for it, there are other ways to monatise the game. besides, i don't want to derail this thread anymore so I'm just gonna say again that you should be abble to scrap old rewards with the new rewards. and there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to

thorn snow
#

tbh I don't really mind this change, as long as old crates will still be available some way

dapper mirage
#

the old crates will be available i just dont know when

open pumice
dapper mirage
#

no

thorn snow
#

Like the wynn team does need money... I don't see the issue with paylocking some cosmetics

open pumice
#

then it's locked behind a paywall

dapper mirage
#

and?

#

its cosmetics dude, be glad theyre given for free at all

open pumice

why?
I don't min paying money for crates buty why do i HAVE to pay money for crates.

thorn snow
#

IT'S A BLOODY COSMETIC

dapper mirage
#

because thats the point..?

#

and even still you have the option to get them with silverbull shares

junior vessel
#

Im gonna assume you want old crates from the daily challange

#

I cant really argue with that

#

Just the option between new and old

thorn snow
#

I mean yeah it sucks. but at the end of the day the cosmetics won't help u at the game

open pumice
junior vessel
#

I also cant argue with that

open pumice
thorn snow
#

I mean yeah it's a cool thing to have a community around, but a skin won't make u better

pastel herald

what

open pumice

if the comsetics weren't important then no one would buy them. no one would spend hundreds of dollars on crates

open pumice

people REALLY care about looking good

pastel herald

at the end of the day you already get infinitely more cosmetics for free in wynncraft than you do in other f2p games

thorn snow

ok... so pay up
like I don't get why would something that doesn't affect the gameplay matter so much?

junior vessel
#

F2p games are solid at giving you small free cosmetics

pastel herald
#

like i would describe myself as very anti p2w but picking this hill to die on, cosmetics which you get (A) weekly and (B) daily during festivals is insane to me

dapper mirage

you cannot compare them when they are completely different

im not sure wynncraft is sold on its graphical fidelity...

open pumice
thorn snow
open pumice

i know a lot of people who only log onto wynn to get crates during events

junior vessel
#

This is embarrassing to the anti-pay to wynn

thorn snow
#

I mean ofc people care about cosmetics, but why shouldn't cosmetics be monetized?

silent gull
thorn snow
#

even the games u prev stated are HEAVILY monetizing their skins

open pumice
silent gull
#

It is weird that they are not sold together

dapper mirage
#

literally the whole point of cosmetics existing is for them to be monetized and wynn is actually really lenient with them, nons get free crates every week and during festivals you get free crates every DAY

thorn snow
open pumice
#

i guess it's not laways 8000000k grapihcs but they're not ba

thorn snow
#

but yeah video game cosmetics are mostly made for monetization purposes

thorn snow
#

wynn is very generous when it comes to free cosmetics

#

most games won't give u 30 free crates, let alone 10

open pumice
#

all i care about here is to be able to scrap old cosmetics with the new ones since it feels to forced to demand players buy extra crates all of a sudden

#

if this system exsisted from day one i wouldn't care actually

fervent birch
#

this is a very weird hill to die on

thorn snow
open pumice

I'm only upset because in the past you could have gotten MOST of the old cosmetics with exceptionn of the oens that wre removed from rotation. now ALL old cosmetics were removed from rotation and if you want them back you have to buy old crates
I'm arguing that this sudden change is bad.

fervent birch
#

just because there isn't a way to obtain them now doesn't mean that it will stay that way

I would also like to know if the old bonfire crates can be obtained for free through daily and weekly objectives

what I think the OP is trying to say:

  • splitting bonfire cosmetics into two different collections was a good and necessary change that the devs implemented as a result of player feedback.
  • most players who upvoted the collection splitting were not aware that this meant you would not be able to scrap old bonfire cosmetics anymore (without spending extra money to buy legacy crates just to obtain 5 cosmetics of the same rarity)
  • this is problematic because over time, players will accumulate more and more of these cosmetics that they cannot get rid of (I currently have 3 or 4 of each rarity of legacy bonfire helm cosmetics that can't be scrapped anymore)
  • also worth noting: at least for me, I always expect to be able to recycle older years' cosmetics through scrapping whenever the festival rolls around, I don't think the people complaining about this change would mind at all if they just rolled new bonfire cosmetics from scrapping legacy ones
#

possible solutions that have already been proposed:

  • a system similar to powder scrapping: if you scrap 4 legacy bonfire with 1 fiery bonfire, you have an 80% chance to obtain a legacy bonfire cosmetic and a 20% chance to obtain a fiery bonfire cosmetic
  • the current system remains, but some amount of legacy bonfire crates are given as a daily reward for ranked players during the festival, as a replacement for regular non-festival daily crates
#

I think this it's unfair to call collection-splitting a "cash grab", but this is an unexpected downside that was packed in with a much-request upside, similar to when wynn team reduced the class deletion timer but implemented that alongside halving class slots for new players

#

not that reducing class slots (and similarly, collection splitting) was necessarily a bad change (again, I think these were necessary and even positive changes for the game), but no one thought that the long-awaited positive change would also come with a downside when it could have come with no downside (at least in the view of the player)

# dawn moon what I think the OP is trying to say: * splitting bonfire cosmetics into two dif...

Another post was already made and these exact points were already brought up with a ct. No players wouldn't benefit from a powder scrapping type of system where the item you get is based on the percentage of the items you scrapped from 1 type of crate. Eg 1/3 being from fiery bonfire gives 1/3 chance of the upgraded item being from fiery. This would fix every single issue as then wynn can add as many collections as they want (hence fixing the too many items in a crate issue) and also people don't build up 20 items that either they can't scrap without paying for more crates or just loads of filler items they want to scrap but don't have the necessary items to be able to

dawn moon
final oxide
# pastel herald intentional i think

Doesn't matter if its intentional the idea of adding more crates is fine but there isn't a single player who wouldn't be happy to be able to scrap fiery and non fiery bonfire cosmetics together. And I'd say most players are actually annoyed that that wasn't something you could do by default

quasi mural
#

allow any type of bonfire to scrap, if you don't choose a pool, they will scrap into the newest pool and not legacy ones

#

if you have silverbull u will have the chance of choosing the pool that you want

#

that way you can have legacy stuff, but harder to get since is locked behind havin silverbull sub + scrapping system while making it posible to players to scrap mixed pools, some ppl have like 1-2 cosmetics from legacy crates and is just annoying to have them

#

at any case it doesn't affect ppl with all legacy content and it doesn't bloat the pool

#

if ur not gonna let us scrap the cosmetics give us the option to delete the cosmetic

#

this is a completley fair and reasonable thing to do; Also maybe let players know ahead of time or be more clear with the messaging

#

it really is that simple to just be clearer with the messaging. It feels like 90% of the devs teams problems could be cleared up by just being more transparent with the player base. I love this game but the lack of clarity on this festival and the last update was not ideal

static stratus
#

I think I speak for more CT than just me if I say I assumed people wouldnt be mad about the leftover cosmetics. Like I myself have a ton and just dont really care. But its understandable that it could be annoying so we have suggested smth internally.

I am grateful that there are attempts being made to remediate this, but I stand by the fact this problem wouldn’t have existed if the dev team was more transparent on the way crates were going to work
