Hello! I've been mostly playing ironman the last year on Wynncraft, and I have to say, the gamemode is a lot of fun, I like it a 100x more than normal mode, but it has a major problem. The mode is designed for playing solo, which is completely fine, until you start doing raids. Raids are made for a group of 4 people, with usually the team composition of a tank, a healer and some sort of dps. However, if you're playing on an ironman class, you don't get any of your teammates healing or other buffs. This means that you can't really play anything other than healer or tank, because you will instantly get one shot by the raid boss. This makes ironman archer and assassin effectively useless in high level raids, because you have to build some sort of defense if you want to survive, but then you won't deal damage, what would be the whole point of those classes. So what I would recommend, is to allow ironman players to receive buffs and healing from other players only in this part of the game, which is ultimately designed to never be played alone. In my opinion this wouldn't really change the point of the gamemode, because you would still have to get your gear and complete all the quests alone, but it would make the ironman experience a lot more versatile, fun and accessable for players. I have searched "ironman" and haven't seen a post of this topic, that's why I made it. But I honestly don't see a reason, why somebody wouldn't want this in the game. It would just make it playable

I think u are exaggerating how important team buffs are to surviving but I wouldn't be against letting ironman classes getting team buffs
the central case is kind of between whether ironman should be as purist as it's been where you have to be fully capable of surviving yourself and need to plan to run in a good time as part of the ironman experience™
or whether ironman should be a little more casual in raiding where you can benefit from your team because it is, after all, expressly a team situation
My main problem is, that you can't even enter alone to raids, because it's forced to be played in a team, but once you're inside, you're supposed to survive alone. It just doesn't make sense in my opinion.
If it was made possible to enter alone, and complete it, I would totally agree with not receiving the buffs. But the way it is now, I think it's the only way to be.
In my opinion, adding the healing/buffs in raids would make it a bit too casual. Even though the recieved buffs are minor, the healing would be too good. Nevertheless, buffs alone should not able to be be given by teammates. This would remove a last bit of challenge for the ironman gamemode, since getting gear has become much easier upon the addition of the lootrun camps. Therefore, preparing a good build and actually learning the boss attacks in order to play more offensively is actually healthier for both the game and your own enjoyment by making it more of the challenge that it is supposed to be
maybe you can split it: ultimate Ironman never gets buffs, while just Ironman can get buffs in raids
I totally understand what you are saying, and I agree with the game being easy, but I don't think making raids harder is the way to fix that. Raids are forced to be played in teams, and it just doesn't make sense to not get the team buffs there. However, I would love to see other challenging late game content, that COULD be played in teams, but wouldn't be forced, so there would be a real challenge for ironman players.

I'm not talking about making raids harder. At the state they are in right now, you do not need buffs from your teammates. If there was an actual requirement for a specific team composition, say like guild wars then yeah ironman might benefit from recieving team buffs there. However, even though raids are played in teams, the team composition really does not matter that much

I'd just remove this functionality if I could, but if it has to stay, I think "gamemode blocks you from getting buffs from your party" should be a hardcore thing more than an ironman thing

this way ultimate iron retains the og “ultimate” difficulty of the challenge, while normal more casual Ironman players can enjoy a more casual experience
making any of them easier at this point is a bad idea imo because a lot of people have dedicated their time to completing a difficult challenge, and just making it easier is kinda really not cool

i am unaware of any connection of hunted to the topic of whether ironman should be able to receive positive effects from teammates in raids
Because Hunted is treated the exact same way, you cannot buff or recieve healing/buffs in team content
Despite the mode not having any such restrictions in the description
And doesn't make sense thematically
The funny thing is, that neither does Ironman have this mentioned in its description
I'm just curious what's the dev team's reason of not changing it. Ironman and hunted both existed way before raids were released. Of course I don't know how they were play tested with these special game modes, but I really think that it should be at least reconsidered by the admins.

I've been playing since the 1.19 update, where the hardest thing was maybe the Legendary island or the Eye boss fight. Ironman mode existed back then, raids didn't. It was perfectly balanced, because there wasn't any content, that required more than 1 person to complete. Except like opening Bob's tomb and other things. But that's a whole other story

everyone does; the only way to make them safe zones without devtime is to make them into towns. which means people respawn there. gg
just use blueprint tool and mark a certain zone as no PVP or casting any spells
