i think shouts have been way undermoderated for a very long time and im really sick of it.

it doesnt seem like an uncommon opinion that people are fed up with degeneracy in shouts and have made several mods to filter or ignore shouts because the moderation team is not doing their job properly. whenever annihilation happens every few days, 40-50 po‍rnography addicted e-femboys crawl out of the woodwork to shout the most unfunny shit youve ever seen, supported by whoever else sees that going on unpunished and then decides hey this is a GREAT time to shout im gonna give annie backsh‍ots!!! wow!!! real funny guys. surely this will not seem offputting on normal players who are trying to enjoy the game. its not really the players' problem since their frontal lobes probably haven't developed yet (and if you're like 25 shouting this stuff in a server full of kids and teenagers you should probably do some deep introspective thinking), but mods should REALLY have more of a handle on this shit. its been a problem since before i stopped playing around december and seems to have gotten worse in the absence of (most) moderation.

ive been told its hard to introduce friends to the game because they see shouts and are like "is this what the community is like? jesus" and i cant really blame them. aside from annie, theres really just a lack of shout moderation IN GENERAL. just today there was a massive flame war in shouts between idk maybe a dozen people that was instigated by one sh‍itwad and went on for about half an hour until the guy ran out of shouts. sure its funny to see the monkeys in chat jump around but i really think its not a good look for the community or really anyone and makes me kinda disgusted. again i think moderating this kind of stuff is not hard to do so long as there is a moderator online to do so.

and genuinely i think mods just need to start handing out 5 day mutes that are perm on second offense until people get the idea and stfu about whatever weird bullshit theyre saying. it REALLY wont take many of them. it would also help if the moderation team shouted themselves after this (idk how theyd get shouts. maybe make a special orange colored one for moderators) and said hey! we dont tolerate this shit in the community! it doesnt seem that hard 😭 😭 i dont want to have to use external mods and set up word filters just to be able to enjoy my experience on the game. ok sorry for crashout post over

-Staff shout colors being different from normal would be good.
-Shouts should 100% be moderated harder than they are now.
-I agree with progressively greater punishments, up to and including shout bans if that's possible.
-Some care needs to be taken about what topics are acceptable and what isn't, so autobans are probably not going to be feasible.
-Care will need to be taken to not conflate "annoying" with "inappropriate".
-Someone suggested having shouts show up in a webhook to a Discord channel, which could be complex to do but would make for VERY easy moderation of shouts. The effort sounds worth it, at least on paper, as a moderation tool.
-This generally will all rely on mods to be more active, so it may be worth also spreading the net wider and getting more mods on the team.

I agree with this (not that my opinion matters but screw you im gonna share it anyways)

Shouts are complete ass to read. some shouts are funny, some shouts are weird but for the most part as soon as the femboys crawl out of their caves with shout bombs ready to spam the chat with meowing or some shit is also what deters most people from playing the game

Took me like 3 or 4 weeks to get some of my friends to play the game because i'd be screensharing it and they would see shouts and go "wtf im not playing this shit with the weird ass community" (like skyblock was any better but ok.) Mostly to the point where I use wynn to filter out shouts.

I cba writing a long ass essay to why shouts need moderation, its already been done. and everyone knows how bad shouts get. I remember making a wynntils feedback post to toggle them and (it getting denied because there was already a way to do so using chat tabs)

I believe there is a mod (as in modification, not moderator) that can auto translate messages from any language to English. It would be useful if you managed to suggest all ingame moderators to install it so that they can more easily and consistently deal with people who spam obscene content in a different language

If it’s shown globally, would there be able to made a system where if the user used a shout bomb within 1 minute of being punished, it auto announces it globally; I’d suggest that it hides the staff username but just “&a<Player> has been muted” or something to show that shouts are often actually moderated
