I’m gonna be completely honest, this issue isn’t solvable, since it seems to me that you’re not consistently killing the enemies around you enough to not have them trail you. Especially with more than 3 players in the same area. That’s just how the enemy agro works; just be sure to remain proactive

So we move to the true point of the feedback, which is. If I know nothing about the game, I should be able to walk into the gates of a major city or stand at beginner vendors and spend atleast 5 seconds reading before being mobbed.
If I can't do either of those, sure I can work around it. but the experience fails to compel me to keep going. I enjoy the game none the less

This is coming from someone who’s introduced Wynn to many people. You just need to actually kill the mobs that are near you
They’re an extra help, when they work, but they’re closer to ambience rn, until they fix blue name mobs in the future
they literally work perfectly fine it most servers though
here they are attacking zombies near me
Wynn team can’t always prioritize stuff like this, because most players just kill the mobs, while also play in smaller groups. 4 may seem small to most MMO players, but Wynn is generally 1-2 player content, with raids and guilds offering that multiplayer aspect

also another thing is like these zombies are literally like the weakest enemies in the game idk how anyone can complain about them
I think i made my point without continuing further, we agree the AI is horrible so that primarily makes my point clear without making this turn into a massive essay.
They’ve done alot for the early game, already. Keep in mind this is a small team, and to outright change the way blue name mob AI works is a huge task, especially with the coming update.
Especially when the issue stems from general server connections just de-syncing mobs. This kind of feedback just doesn’t hold much merit, considering it’s an issue that can’t really be solved from suggesting it. They’re aware of the issue
(Also, imo, this isn’t even an issue, since it’s literally entirely remedied by—again—killing the mobs)
If they refuse to fix 2/3 of mythics to be usable, i can already see them fixing ragni mobs you see for 5 minutes
“Fixing”, and it’s just general server issues, which aren’t consistent and can just break random things no matter how stable

Not sure what this kind of feedback hopes to achieve. One issue stems entirely from just not being aware and letting enemies swarm you, whilst the other one is based in a completely random server issue

So we have "We agree the AI is shit but unsolveable" and "they dont fix our feedback so dont expect yours to matter" but then also "You should expect to be attacked in main cities, small outposts, everywhere in the game, essentially dont open it unless you know how it works first.

One, Bob should not be flagged to be aggro in major cities to start. he should be neutral and a random npc to find, not trail off to attack players in a city full of guards. Also its not impossible to setup an aggro radial system Imo.

The mobs spawn zone is overlapped in the outpost zone @rose fog unless that didn't make its way during the convo
not by Wynncraft's definition of NPC, which is an interactable entity that you talk to, not an enemy.
Also the vendor in question was the blacksmith by the archer tower. to clear that up.
I mean, yeah, it is, you can also kill the mobs there to stop them from swarming you. Get your group to do that and I promise you, your problem will go away

that area is called emerald trial its not supposed to be 100% safe its just supposed to give new players a comfortable space to learn the game. the blacksmith and item identifier are there for convenience.

This seems to be an uncommon problem, tbh, and I’m interested to know for sure what on earth you guys were doing to have it be such a problem
Wynncraft is all about an eternal war ripping apart the provinces, everywhere other than the major cities is extremely dangerous, and the outpost on the Emrald Trail is designed to highlight that with even the NPC areas not being safe from enemies attacking you regularly
This expectation was confused when there were guard towers planted with 8 archers next to it. so my "expectation" was misstepped because of my general understanding of games.
New players would have already made their way to next city when you are aruging bob is annoying 😭

TLDR, guards were being stuck on everything and mobs were making it into the city and also I misunderstood the point of guard towers outside the city walls.

I proposed it earlier. which was a relatively easy suggestion.
Add a tag for bob in the main city, also make it so that the mobs constantly roaming around the first beginner area adhere to an aggro radius only in this stage of the game

Bob is basically acting as bait for players to kill it. It drops an item on death which is needed for something else.

Not even in a mocking way, I’m just genuinely confused at how this kind of event can even occur. I’ve been active for more than a decade, helping new players since conception, and I’ve never met one group of people experience issues like this. At most, people have died at the blacksmith, and they fix the issue by not letting mobs swarm them next time. It’s a common theme in Wynn, never talk, AFK, stand still, whatever, when mobs are near you. Even safe zones have mobs in them—pitiful ones for added stress. It’s the entire theme of Wynn to always be reminded that there is a war
If it was so out of this world of an experience for a player to have, you would of thought the investigation would of taken place before the random hamburgers and ragebaits

You learn an expectation but dont know how to set it and when someone says something ignorant about a system you have known for thousands of hours, you are blinded and assume the person is mentally disabled in some regard. which is understandable. Genuinely though it was an experience regardless.

this whole situation could have been avoided if you followed what the tutorial taught you (wynncrafts tutorial is great tbh) and just killed the mobs near you, and if not its ok you end up dying a few times and you would start to learn the game naturally

The heavy upfront toxicity from so many players jumping on a feedback thread that could of easily been left alone and laughed at instead of turning into a offload shafting session will probably be a big reminder for awhile of why I probably wont.

extrapolates this to the new player experience being bad as a whole (entirely different scenario)

This entire scenario was escalated to this point by the discord regulars not being understanding and patient with new players. They chose to gang up on someone expressing a small part of the game they wish to see improved. Gif spam, reaction spam, straw-manning their messages, and good old fashion ragebait. These are all very common in this community I dont see how you can dismiss it as mild joking. Especially to a newcomer who has no insight to what the (discord) server's culture is, its hard to get used to and shouldnt be forced onto the new members this harshly

the real problem is the fact that the melee guards on the ground break after they have killed all mobs and return to their spawnpoint
this is a dev issue and ive been asking for it to be fixed for months but it isnt high priority because it concerns the old mob system which we are barely using anymore

The thread was originally made to explain the frustrations of how players interact with environments in games and the experience that followed while I spent the first hour in the game. The toxicity of the culture that has gone unmanaged here changed the entirety of the forum into a shitpost and instead of setting the expectation straight "just so you know. Guards in our game are not a sign of safe areas but rather decoration in places outside cities" it turned into being eaten alive by veteran players who have no patience or intention of integrating or setting new players on the right path
So the entirety of the post got summed up into a player who wants mobs killed for him.
