right now -sp does (for the most part) effectively nothing, like you arent penalized for having -200 int (brainwash large lapis slap 👁️).
my idea is to make -sp actually, you know, negative instead of existing. make it have a bad effect
its really dumb how easy it is to get away with it too. the most niche thing i can think of is -sp req. crafteds, and even then youre almost never gonna need to care about that

-strength: deal less dmg
-dexterity: chance to halve dmg
-intelligence: reduce all sources of mana gain
-defense: take more dmg
-agility: harder to move around(? idk tbh)

of course there should be a cap (maybe like -50 sp the effects stop worsening). just make it do something

Most negative sp is meant to make sure you can't cancel it rather than actually negate your assigns, this wouldn't work

the penalty already exists for negative sp it makes you practically unable to get buffs from those sp
like if you used aphotic or something you just cant crit anymore and no amount of dex is gonna fix that unless youre super dedicated to making it positive again (with little reward)
this would also just kill all master hive armor, those quad elemental rare armor (phantasmagoria, guillotine, paradox, etc
