#New Acrobat is a bit of a mess, here is my ideas on how to make it feel better

As a long time acro player I was very excited for the upcoming changes to hopefully make my main not only better but also much more engaging. Sadly the update dropped and after playing for about 30 minutes the new acrobat is a pretty awful feeling mix of a bunch of differing and contrasting ideas mixed into one. I have a few ideas that I think would make it feel much better to play.

  1. **The new Lacerate Jump Tech:**I echo what the other posts say, please just remove this. While staying in the air as Acro was difficult before, it was also incredibly rewarding and allowed for a lot of different techs that were discovered over the years. The new interation feels much slower, clunky, and overall is just a downgrade.

  2. The Stomp: First things first, having to go 20 BLOCKS into the air to get max damage on a rework built to keep you closer to enemies is insane. It would feel MUCH better to only need to be airborne (maybe a 5-6 block requirement as mentioned in a similar post) in order to proc for max damage so gameplay is more fast paced. (Damage can be reduced from current if it would be op like this) Having to take the time to slowly climb up in the sky leads to a very slow playstyle on a class meant to be fast and exciting.

Next, Jasmine bloom being connected to the stomp just feels...awful. Momentum charges incredibly fast and rewards you with a damage boost for stomping as frequently as possible. And then there is jasmine bloom, which charges very slow and is needed to get max damage. Please just remove this combo and have them be separate abilities. Jasmine bloom as a passive DPS source was fine as is and does not need anything extra added to it.

Finally, Stomp not having any sort of bounce up is a strange decision to me. I am not asking for piro levels of height, but adding a 3 block bounce on a max momentum stomp would make the subsequent dash into the enemy feel much better as well as allow you to keep momentum (not the ability) in boss fights. 3 blocks would also keep you in the hitbox of every boss in the game (other than groot waves ig) so its still very dangerous to pull off successfully on glassier builds. Also, tying this only to max momentum would add a skill layer to the class so if you stomp a little too early it would punish you for it.

If anyone disagrees with what I have said or finds new acro awesome please comment below and maybe my eyes can be opened, but as of rn this is a sad day for acro mains everywhere.

TLDR: New acro is weird to play and have a lot of facets that need to be improved on IMO.

also thematically the stomp thing doesn't really fit acro, seems more like a warrior ability to me. with the sound effect being super smashy, the particles being green, it just doesn't fit acro very well imo

also new lace hop kinda forces you to have lace + multi range if you even want to play, it bounces you so high that nothing is close to hitting anymore

i think it's just that using hop while lacerate is going "consumes" lacerate's second jump, so you can't dash with it

the only way i start taking fall dmg if i literally dont use RRR a single time in combat

which is intended, because at no point do you cancel your fall dmg, so like idk what you ppl are doing if you arent using dash at any point @slate ridge@frosty panther

I imagined since the new ability incentivizes falling from high places that some sort of defense against fall damage directly implemented would make sense

Assassin itself is rare enough, every Assassin I see is a Trickster of some variety because that archetype is grossly overpowered

After talking to CT this is the list of possible changes that would fix my issues:

  • Acro damage bumped up across the board
  • Swan dive radius increased to 8 to avoid taking damage every stomp
  • Empowered dash now has a piro effect but ONLY empowered dash
  • Height range for swan dive is reduced to 5-15.

ngl cant it just be like if u hit any mob with the ability you wouldnt take fall dmg, but if u dont u will still take the fall dmg (i cant decide on the value), this surely isnt something that i took from monumenta!!!
