what tends to happen for me is the team has to 3 v 1 me half the time to win. Literally the only class that can tend to 1 v 1 me consistently is another irlok
irlok cant rlly do much if u just hover above him as dr li
they actually can.
I play Dr li a lot and that seems to work
His base form hover since it's too fast most of the time for anyone to hit
they cant dash up to do the big 40 dmg aoe fall attack bc of your hitbxo blocking it ithink
did it a few times, unless the dr legendary is right above me i just charge up.
If it's the other side well that slam works
That's a counter and issue ive had with irlok his dash can be stopped if it hits a target so when someone is up in your face you can't dash into the air

issue is other classes can also just pepper the dr legendary.
Since what i've found is popular duo is irlok and tom
third is either hailey gawrick or theo

With li base form fly I generally just try and orbit the outer edge of the point so most of the time they'll be blocked by terrain or I'll be out of range and stuff

rickeo's a bit more common but still not as common as those 3 for some reason

The only time I can consistently hit it is if I'm backing away and they're chasing me

so rickeo's the only one who can really fight irlok due to the extra range and healing on hit
Otherwise it's useless ive found
the only issues with rickeo rn are dash being finnicky and his ultimate just... sucking after initial use.
And since the only way I can get it to work is to stay at a consistent range backing away the hook is detrimental because it gets people too close
It would be good if my melee worked
Dash is only useful for going in since trying to use it mid combat is a death sentence
And ult takes time to charge and isn't that great
So I have like zero consistent damage options

Just start camping and as soon as irlock look at you, get ready to change your camping spot
Thats the only way i found to fight against irlock

it gets bonus damage from airtime so the gameplay loop is to simply spam dash into air -> airstrike
it ALSO heals when in the air, so this contributes to it sustaining

A lot of the time
it can heal itself by stalling, deals ludicrous amounts of damage and is also highly mobile aslong as it has harmony
Irlock imo need a nerf

i have started to just pick irlok when my team is seemingly terrible and it's open, even if just to cope
i am not great at it yet but i've found it to be pretty boring overall
i much prefer missing my shots on tom and feel genuine improvement when i hit well
than to just go airstrike unga bunga and kill entire team in one shot

theorick when the server lags and half the character simply doesnt work anymore

it's just worth it to be outside their shield and blast them

i've actually got a few killed that way because i sent them right in to my teammates

hailey's i see play basically forget the candy canes actually do healing

when i know a game is just over by my team playing irlok and getting wiped i mentally flip a coin between selfish hailey trollage and practicing shots on tom
The ones who actually do healing are the scary ones
because their ultimate's charge like hell
Hailey is not that bad at offensive solo

unless it's a competent fighter i've found
support hailey is nice but i only really play it when i have teammates that play offense properly
but i will say, people do not realise how strong that ultimate is for just stalling.
or a half decent irlok to give them the edge in 1v1 irlok fights
Most of the Times, 80%, People are not good in pfinder
the iframe on hailey ult can also clutch irlok airstrikes
or the kb ultimate from him.
I've done it a few times just out of pure spite
I have only found 2/3 good toms in pfinder so far, and 3/4 good irlok

i only recently started grinding so i can get all of the items
i sometimes miss the telegraph because of focus on other things so i die
The only ultimates it's kinda useless on are garwick theo and legendary
my tom gameplay in pfinder is hilarious
because garwick's more of a delay to get to cover same with theo.

I feel like if dash had lesser vertical momentum slam is much weaker
Because you currently either use your dash for it or have to get really high and the second is fair I think
irlock has a lot of problems
the biggest issue i have is how rewarding the dash is.
They get airtime (which is always a good thing in this game) Which in turn gives them healing meaning if they're damaged they've got EVEN more health to deal with.
Then they can get a decent position while falling to slam someone for 40 damage and I think get some harmony back

I mean all of that stems from the upwards dash

heres what im thinking on irlok changes
To help give a warning as well as people a better idea of how far to go to dodge it
- ult damage from 55 to 35
- fix the dash going further than intended
- slam requires longer air time to max out (~1.5x more)
- slam max damage is reduced from 40 to 30, radius is reduced from 8 to 5.5

on theo, i did have the thought of heavily reducing the shield health (maybe to like... 50? 60?), but it does not passively lose health (or if it does, its slow. like 3/s?)

i think 8 block radius turned out to be excessive
I mean yeah, but with the scaling decrease the size will already be much smaller on average
Feel like the max was just op when it was spammable. Now you'll likely need to get on top of buildings to use it and that's only a 1 time thing.
Smaller radius means it's gonna be harder to charge dash
A lot of the time the slams horizontal momentum overshoots or is inconsistent, radius helps a lot with that

it's based off of how vertically youre facing
the more vertical, the less horizontal momentum you get

a cool solution would be if the server somehow can distinguish a disconnect vs a lag kick through the pcket and error messages sent to client but i dont think thats possible

Look my main arguement is that Emotions>Logic in terms of why people like rooms. let me use a really obvious example, there is 1 activity which almost every human no matter the gender absolutely loves (im not naming it here because pg13 rule). And if you think about this activity logically its not sophisticated at all or sth, quite the opposite, yet it feels great and thats why people love it. The very same argument can be made about raid rooms. My main argument with wing room is that not having to deal with escort FEELS great. Is wing room sophisticated or the most well thought out challenge, obviously not. Same goes with 3rd room in tcc at least for me. Holding shift for over 1 minute is horribly boring, running along side a wall is horrible boring, and Parkour is horribly boring. No matter how logically you analyze and rate challenges based on that,the emotional experience of the challenges will for most people be always more important than some logic, even if they might not be consciously aware of it.
i havent seen ppl dodging queue so i dont think shard farming because of early disconnects should bea problem rn>
