(Feedback at the end supposedly, but hopefully this invigorates the Content Team a bit)
Frustration towards developers is understandable in the face of undesirable results, but how many times may one get mad and excuse our lapse in judgement to this instinct? If one were to constantly talk down on the team and simply attempt to waive its effects by stating that they were angry, is their gratitude sincere as they make it out to be?
Maybe, but it's one's own selfishness to afflict this treatment on others. One can't simply reprieve themselves of all accountability as this emotion can be controlled. Even if our comments about the incompetence of the content team are satirical, we should always remember who the people mending this experience are. Wynncraft isn't just popular, it's lucky to have the team it has today.
A group of volunteers who must apportion a minuscule or significant amount of time of their lives. They are not paid in any way and are simply doing this as a hobby or garnering game design experience. In the grand scheme of things, being a part of the content team for Wynncraft likely won't attract interviewers as much as actually designing a real game. We see the limits of Minecraft being broken, but these will amount to almost nothing in the real world. Yet, despite these drawbacks, we still have a dedicated team due to passion and love.
It's wrong for me to poke fun at these people. They are not obligated to do this. Just keep up the great work. What may come off as simple - the builds, the balancing, the archetypes - all come off as necessarily complex and interesting, it's amazing. I know inexperienced decisions made by content team members may dissatisfy players, but players shouldn't dedicate so much of their life to this to begin with. Keep doing this if you like it. I will always be in support of the server that I grew up with back in 2014.
BlakeDwarf, resigning from Wynning duties... for now.
