@worthy wing I'd like to note that I have first logged on and noticed it today, Wednesday 14 August approx 2:30am EST - after your referenced time. I had not logged onto beta, or played on the server since June.

I will immediately tell Salted. I'm running under the assumption that you already double-checked as to whether you were on your character bank or account-wide bank when doing this given what you said
haha more than double checked. 830 hours on the server and have been playing for 7 years.
But I mean, heres a screenshot for confirmation.
bonus screenshot - I bought pages 3 & 4 to see if my items would show up, but no.
I've reported it to Salted and Zeer. Unfortunately that's about all I can do.

I don't think it was the new GUI. My guess is migration of data. Looks like they expanded the size of the bank and would've had to move data around
Can you avoid this, by creating Charakters and putting the items into their inventories as a temprary solution?

The only thing I will say in our defense is that this did NOT arise from a lack of testing, considering there were no reports of bank wipes on beta and afaik there were no changes to the bank between the release of beta and now. That is the only statement I'll make in regards to that
yeah it was probably during data migration prior. I assume they have backups in these situations.
Unfortunately testing wont bring out a lot of these issues, sometimes they affect a small percentage that it only becomes an issue once its pushed into production

rollback is probably a different issue when the data doesnt synchronize across servers
question: if this is a data migration issue that can be fixed for players who have yet to login to the server, then why can the same fix not be used to restore the banks of players who were affected by this issue?
seeing as the bug causes bank pages to be un-bought, surely an in-game, timestamped screenshot of the bank page purchase screen is proof enough?
its not unbought, there's just data corruption or lost somewhere in their migration logic
in-game, the bank screen, as seen in the screenshot you sent, needs to be bought again. players cannot unbuy a bank page, so this is definitive proof that the bug happened to the player

yes but can we not be semantic please. I clearly acknowledge it is a data migration issue right at the start. the symptom of the data migration issue is that bank pages past the first 2 need to be bought again, so i referred to them as having been un-bought. whats so wrong about that
if the data already got migrated then the old data might not exist or be accurate anymore
if the data already got migrated, why can the bug be fixed for players who have yet to login?
their data hasn't been migrated yet; migration occurs when a player logs in it seems
is the migration not done prior to the server update

even if not a perfect solution, it seems much preferrable than losing entire bank pages worth of stuff.
as long as only the missing bank pages are restored (meaning, you leave the first two as is) the procedure cannot be exploited

the concern is that if the player has taken stuff out, and they restore bank data it would be a theoretical dupe

they need to restore the users accounts entirely to the backup before the update & migrate the data properly.

well this doesn't fix the theoretical dupe if players have traded to another player
I don't think anyone will complain if you just overwrite all player data to last good backup
they definitely will, given people have got mythics from annihilation and made lots of progress into the update

players can only have traded to another player what they have access to. given that the first two bank pages are what they have access to, we can just not restore the first two bank pages since they already have them
they shouldnt touch any beta data. they should go off their last production backup before taking servers down- find the cause for data corruption (honestly could be something like certain items causing data migration to fail from that point onwards) and migrate the data properly
^ its hard to believe that you guys wouldnt make a backup of the live server before pushing changes. that seems like very bad data management practice
oh they hundred percent would've. they wouldn't gamble and screw something up and have nothing to fall back on

from what i gathered the issue is the bank problem rose just late enough that any back up would of angered half the playerbase
since enough progress got made by people either with mythics or new classes that it's just kinda like "well that was worthless"

yes and you're outright wrong with the disagreement there. You can't blame a team for not fixing something that was never reported/existed. It seemed fine to release and then after they do that an infamous bug appears.
if this were to happen in any other games people would lose thier minds and the games would get heavy backlash,
but whenever a game breaking issue happens in Wynncraft players are always told to deal with it and that there's nothing that can be done
Whenever I tell my friends about bugs like these they laugh and ask me why I play this game? And I do gotta ask myself. Why play the game that can delete years of progress and then tell me nothing can be done about it.
This is the issue.
"game breaking issue" Outside of soft locks this is the first major issue i've seen where players lost mass amounts of stuff.
Like i'm being honest here what do you actually expect the wynn team to do when a bug like this appears out of nowhere causing havock. You can test all you want but if a bug just never appears you can't exactly go "oh we won't release it incase it DOES appear"
sometimes you can be wrong even if you do everything right.
I know there was no way for them to know this bug, but the bug did occour and they have no system in place to fix the effects of it and players are once again told that they will not be compensated for their losses.
Imagine working your whole life and when you finally should start getting pension you're told there was a completely unforseen glich in the system and now some data on how much you should be getting was lost and there's nothing that can be done about it.
Sure it wasn't their fault that the glitch occoured, but it was their fault that there wasn't any way to ammend the error. No back up. No nothing.
Telling a player to "deal with it" after a bank wipe is just 
they've never even said deal with it funnily enough

all they've really said is they can't do anything since the only possible solution is one that would anger most of the player base
since individual refunds/rollbacks would be probably impossible.

There's a bug that deletes yuor items on armor stands.

They do and haven't they multiple times tried fixing it.
Heck that's not even a wynncraft issue, that's just minecraft being stupid, amount of complaints i've seen from other servers about similar issues.

this would probably be the only thing they could do without it getting messy and turning in to "did they actually lose items to refund or lying for free stuff"
yeah. But seriously the bank issue isn't blameable on the team for that in the slightest because beta it was working fine then from what i've heard, data migration screwed up for some people
It's also why SOME people accidentally got rollbacked at one point. Servers are messing up
players cannot possibly un-buy a bank page. only this specific bug can cause it. you cant fake being a victim of this bug

thing is more down to i don't think the team can track bank pages. So it'd have to be down to people sending screenshots and SOMEHOW identifying who you are.
because without the identifier there'd be a few people trying the same screenshot trick because you can have empty bank pages naturally
heres a process they can use to restore banks that wont result in any exploitation:
- For every player, check how many bank pages they had unlocked before and after the server update.
- If the amount of bank pages has decreased, restore bank pages 3 and onwards

no need for screenshot tricks because the amount of bank pages and contents of the bank are all available server side
I think the screenshot above shows how many pages he had, but had to still buy the pages
you cant seriously believe a server as big as this doesnt make backups when they roll out big fundamental changes like this
i believe they make back up's but we don't know how many players this actually hit. Every player who got hit by it has to report it because expecting them to cross reference random players would be a terrible idea.
the numbers on the left are a wynntils thing that do not reflect the total amount of bank pages owned
either that or make a custom check software which is the only other way i can think of for this specfic thing
this whole process i have described does not require any human intervention because no screenshot proof is required.
they only need to write a script that compares the pre and post update bank data
we know for sure that they have systems in place to parse this amount of data, because how else do you think they did the data migration for the update in the first place? any method they used for pushing the update can just as easily be used for this

Can't believe we didn't see that. We can't exactly see beta feedback anymore but I'm running under the assumption that you did make a beta feedback thread about this and it somehow just got lost in the shuffle, and that would be an issue.

And that report got missed.
It wasn't fixed because no one realised it existed aside from the 1 person who reported it
Yeah that's because the amount of players in beta is not enough to gauge the issue
There was a couple hundred the first day.
If it's only 1% affected, might be a couple beta players, but hundreds of actual players in production
And those beta players might've just thought "beta issue, won't happen in production"

I don't know if this is the real truth or not but I'm assuming Salted's asking for IGNs of people affected in an attempt to get like, a pool of people who were affected to see about finding a common link to fix this, so if you have any other IGNs of people who've lost their stuff let me know
