#Assassin's first 2 archetype abilities

So this is a very common suggestion I've seen ever since the ability tree came out and I never understood why it never happened, Poisoned Blade and Double Slice always confused me as neither of them really represents their archetype well and neither have an impact on their archetypes by the end game (double slice can on melee builds but again acrobat isn't even remotely a melee class) most abilities have a decent impact for what they are end game, but are still fairly balanced early game.

Shadestepper is a burst damage class and poison is the exact opposite of that dealing damage over time, but even if poison did make sense the max you can get is 50 which is extremely low, acrobat on the other hand has double slice which makes even less sense since if youre playing the class correctly you really shouldnt ever be in melee range let alone using your melee unless you're using a mana steal build which idk why you'd do that, but either way I think these two classes could use some abilities that are balanced in the early game, but scale into the endgame well.

I would propose giving Shadestepper precise strikes as it emphasizes burst damage and scales off of one of the two main elements that shadestepper represents, it never made any sense to me that warrior got precise strikes over assassin and while archer having it makes more sense I'd still argue that it makes less sense than assassin having it, assassins are precision killers and shadestepper represents that incredibly well, preceise strikes would definitely be a welcome addition to a bit of a weaker archetype.

For acrobat it's a bit more simple, I would propose an ability similar to wisdom being an ability that grants mana regen based on your walkspeed or vice versa as I would argue those are the two most important stats for the archetype especially with propellor hat being added (idk when but it was added after I quit a year ago) and it does a much better job representing the archetype than double slice.

to be fair poisoned blade is just glorified +1 range which is more impactful than you think due to assassin's godawful base melee

Yeah I know the melee range is impactful tbf, but I still think precise strikes would be nice, as I said I do believe shadestepper is in a pretty weak spot just based on the archetype itself, burst damage is always tricky in pve games and I dont know that the burst damage is that great proportional to the setup

#

Also dagger prof 2 is very much reachable for shade and with the new aspects granting assassin up to +2 melee range next update you could make the argument that poisoned blade as is could be entirely replaced with precise strikes, melee range and all

#

Precise strikes just always felt like it was made for assassin especially shadestepper so I hope assassin will get it one way or another

Precise strikes is to be removed from every tree in the game, so

Lol

oh I thought it was just warrior lmao

#

either way I think assassin should have it, idk if I agree with removing it entirely

the poison one feels entirely wasted ngl

What would be cool is if double slice permitted you to throw the shuriken twice.

prisma schooner

that would be kinda cool

if precise strikes was an option you would pick it on every archetype

#

the node under the vast majority of circumstances is just too good to not pick up, let alone as an initial node. idc what the alternative did, unless it was similarly absurd, you'd almost always pick precise strikes including on acro

#

if you really wanted precise strikes as a buff to shade, it should be near the bottom of the tree

wonder if we could have some chars just outright change weapons

#

like ye you would still be using the base weapon you equip on that char ... But like swap the normal attack of assassin for example with the projectiles that right now are just trigger effects

#

or like riftwalker could swing the staff like a sword instead of shooting the mage beams

I mean they are pretty thick/long for wands

yeah you really should call them staves
