The Silverbull Syndicate as a whole feels way too modern and futuristic in my opinion, and the UIs too. It feels weird that there’s the normal medieval stuff in the world and then a random company that is years ahead of everyone else, technology-wise. It just feels very out of place in the world, and I think it would be better if it was reimagined to have a much more medieval style instead of modern. All the modernized stuff that I’ve been seeing recently seems way out of place for Wynncraft, so I think the Silverbull Syndicate’s idea should be changed to be more medieval. Not the actual effects of the subscription and shares, but just the idea and lore. It just feels so modern, the UIs do too, and I don’t like the direction it’s going.
#The Silverbull Syndicate’s modern vibe feels out of place

it's only out of place until they make everything else have a modern+futuristic UI
what about it is futuristic and ahead of everyone else
Havent people beaten this point to death already
the uis, fair
the idea of a large corporation in a fantasy world isnt particularly outlandish though
wynncraft has robots
true
Well only bc the corkians have like electro magic, makes sense lore wise for robots
And it is steampunk not futuristic right?
given that they seemingly have a monopoly on lootrunning, a way to get a lot of money, as well as probably raids?
based on the trailer and the grandmaster type stuff
which is something we see in lootrunning as well
i would consider silverbull to be a pretty "fantasy" implementation of a huge trading guild
yea same
the uis being a bit more modern is kinda
(grandmaster ss pulled from https://cdn.wynncraft.com/nextgen/updates/35484804-7e3f-438b-a259-47105e0a1aa3/videos/content/raids.webm )
@ 7 seconds
so i mean yeah given those 2 things, i think it makes sense to have a guild with a monopoly over the 2 biggest money makers in the game to be extremely rich, even building a headquarters out of quartz and hiring a bunch of employees for it too
large trading guild!!!!
They really built their HQ out of combustible material too
They don't give a damn
is it not made out of quartz?
mostly just the uis and the npc skins for me. the lootrun uis have been talked about enough but generally the whole thing seems more like something you’d see today rather than in a fantasy world. besides the whole lootrunning thing though lmao. but like, it doesn’t feel like a big trading guild in a fantasy world at all, but rather a corporate company that seems more like todays’
all companies are gonna be trying to make money in some fascet
It is - iirc quartz has explosive qualities, which is what I'm referring to
idk why you are dismissing greed as something that only happens today
In lore at least
o yea
with the uh
i’m not talking about the money thing at all
supercharged quartz
i’m talking about what it looks like and feels like lol
If they ever go bankrupt due to financial fraud they supercharge the building and fake their deaths
real
With how much they’re taking over I legit won’t be surprised if the organization turns out to be a bigger antagonist than WynnEx
ok i still dont think a uniform for a large trading guild isnt that outlandish

gotta maintain professionalism to their clients across the provinces
and as an avid enjoyer of medieval high fantasy
That would be cool as hell
its something you see a lot in the genre
it’s not about the fact that there is a uniform. it’s how it looks so modern
Wynncraft has a lot of things that look modern
if i can find a picture of it hold on
Including uniforms
i don’t think that’s a good thing though
It is literally a part of the art style and has been since basically day 1
should we remove the sharpshooter rifle weapon skin then?
since its too modern for you?

there’s a big difference between steampunk and modern
its colour tone is not that out of place compare to silverbull company uis imo...
a supercomputer is NOT steampunk
Yea Wynn has other pieces of content that are modern and you choose to complain about Silverbull?
which bit
Silverbull, a trading guild, something that existed in real life, and many fantasy games
i mean there’s corkus, which is steampunk, and ok yea there’s a supercomputer but still
With uniforms that aren’t far fetched and other trading guilds in other games would use
an option? i don’t understand
minor correction: they didnt build their hq. they bought an old gavel monarchy summer home from the government and repurposed it
Like I don’t really like Silverbull for my own reasons but it clashing with the art style doesn’t feel like a valid one
still a lot of money!
i mean either way it’s not that big of a deal, i just wanted to share what i thought about it which is, it seems too modern for most of the game
Especially since in game they obviously make a crap ton of money, making their uniform feeling more modern not feel too out of place
to be fair im not the biggest fan of the guis, but other than that i generally think its fine
The entire guild rubs me the wrong way and I don’t like how it’s getting roped into endgame more and more purely because real world money is tied to Silverbull
to be fair
i dont think its cause of the real money being tied to it
its more for like an
in lore reason for why lootrunning and i suppose raiding now too exist
at least thats the way i see it
yea i mean it’s not too bad of an issue, but the uniform style feels more like something you’d see today than in a fantasy game imo
well raiding already had a reason, but lootrunning not so much
The thing is LRing and Raiding existed before Silverbull, now their new iterations are tied to this new company that’s first introduction was a thing you could buy with real money to obtain currency in game
It was still a large part of endgame for a decent amount of the playerbase
i dont think that disputes what I am saying
i mean the “official” version of it was only created because the “unofficial” version of it sucked a lot
its an official concept now, not just a player idea
i think that makes it official to some extent
and as such it should have a lore reason accompanying its existance
Cinfras can build elevators
No but like
They can break the fourth wall
Tbf the elevators are very much medieval in concept
true but it’s not to the same extent as the neon colors and modern uniforms of silverbull
With a design that wouldn’t feel out of place for an actual medieval town
Silverbull uniforms are fine for me tbh
i agree
they are more like moving platforms tbh, probably made with magic honestly rather than technology
Hmm I haven’t really noticed the neon colors but also I haven’t looked that hard
in the uis i mean
They have actual ropes tied to them that pull them don’t they?
hmm i haven’t done much looking there so idrk
The UIs have really been the only thing I had any real issue with since 2.0
The ability tree’s stony tome look was great but stuff like the content book I really hated
And now all the UIs are being remade to look… smoother
Also doesn’t corkus have like pretty modern everything
I mean, I see what u mean but how else would u make an appealing start lootrun button
it still has the medieval like texture to it
something something its "different" because its steampunk
(its not that different, get real)
im real
there are probably hundreds of ways to make it look good without being super flashy and colored wdym
lmao wdym corkus isn’t different, the city looks so much different than any other
i mean the environment, not so much, but it still has a unique feel to it and the city is entirely different
i mean, even if i can't rationally pinpoint why, you can surely see that it's different
given that Wynn, like much of fantasy, is real world physics + magic on top; the supercomputer is simply a result of magic accelerating development in specific areas (at the very least, that's how corkus exists)
moreover, the factory/supercomputer are the pinnacle of corkus's technological achievements (not unlike the heart of llevigar)
in any case, the supercomputer is a consequence of how technological development would likely mirror our own world (but accelerated in some places)
there is little reason to believe that a modern style in the world of wynn (which is not strictly a technological change) would strictly map onto what a modern style in our world is like
you seem to have missed a key word there
Idk silverbull is rich so I don’t think it’s that unthinkable that they just paid someone really cool to make stuff for them
god forbid actual feedback in the channel made for feedback
trading companies exist
silverbull has a monopoly on lootruns, and raids with this coming update
its not outlandish to assume that a really rich company would require uniforms, nor make them look nice
so then it just comes down to the uis
yea i mean, it’s not outlandish. i just feel like they are a little too modern but maybe it’s just me
like they can look nice and be more fantasy styled
Idk what ct actually think but the uis could just be the kind of theme they’re going with for new stuff, all that modernizing wynncraft stuff
i mean surely the economic superpower would have sooooome more advanced styles and stuff
gotta use the money to develop
true
i really hope not
Maybe their ceo is just a wynncraft Elon musk and they’re making shit like cybertrucks to look cool
yea raid gui is pretty cool
the thing that bugs me about the uis the most, more than the actual uis, is the font inconsistency
but there's no reason to believe their advanced style is going to look at all like what our idea of advanced styles are
(to be clear, i really like the blacksmith table, but i don't think all the new UI's are quite going for the same thing)
ok but like
what if it did look like our advanced styles
theres nothing saying it cant
shubdow can you bypass the 10 second slowmode
shubdow can you remove the 10 second slowmode
maybe
and after that its just the lr gui, which i have no idea if thats gonna change at any point so
idk i feel like that’s just kinda uncreative. like wouldn’t it be cooler to have modern fantasy that’s unique and cool than just. modern fantasy that looks like real life
i dont expect it to happen any time soon tho
yea sadly i think if they were going to change it, they would have
No offense but I never thought for a single second that anything in Corkus was remotely modern in aesthetic
Except for I guess Antikythera’s boss rooms
well yeah thats kinda what im referring to
Oh sorry I misinterpreted
that and sorta the automatic robot making facility that is the factory
tho thats part of antikythera
Yeah but even then the rest of the Factory doesn’t seem “modern”
It’s only Antikythera boss rooms that feel like it
The rest just feels like a… factory
Just not one for this era
yea i feel the same way
do the bots share the same internet connection
the most uncanny thing about silverbull is that they are rich because uh yeah
I guess the idea is that the trade market is supposed to represent trading with and by the guild of Silverbull, but they don't run the uniforms and look more like a bazaar. They also don't do quality control (i.e. you can sell red ID items) or price control (you only get a recommended average price)
While lootruns at least make some sense - the loot just appears and they happen to collect it; raid monopoly doesn't - canonically smacking some of the most threatening being around for profit (now with self inflicted challenges!), and it implies all effort is futile
well realistically they are doing more than lootruns and raids
but the fact of the matter is that they are incredibly rich because of their monopoly
Trade market has silverbull tax and is the closest to functioning like a trading guild. If it is unrelated, silverbull has no evidence of doing anything but lootruns
ah true
forgot about that whoops
so then they are also getting money off of said tax as well
Are lootruns even canon
I really doubt there’s enough stuff found in the wild to fund at least a portion of the Silverbull Company
And even if there is, the company sure would have looted and ravaged every square inch of whatever region they set up their camps in by now
Oh yeah also tm placement implies Troms is trading with Detlas through Nesaak which means crossing great bridge regularly
... Llevigar
Like if you're gonna complain about them. Complain about the fact llevigar is a literal nuke
isn't there a tunnel or ravines that connect the two cities?
yeah
the passage
Besides, what's stopping the traders or market brokers from using scrolls to transport goods?
I mean they do have guards and guards can move so I’m sure it all works out
I’m sure if these guys can set up a lootrun camp in lutho they can kill some mobs on the great bridge
This is actually an interesting topic, but the size of letvus airbase alone means teleportation is not that accessible or useful in trade
I.e., maybe the most you could transport when teleporting is a bag with few goods (your inventory)
Lutho camp is set up by the player, and the npc in it is supposed to be not human (there is a thread on forums about that)
Link?
I want to read it
https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/why-silverbull-is-100-evil.315337/
Specifically comments by madeline
I guess it is not directly stated the player set up the camp or wrote the entry
I mean teleporting with small quantity is still feasible
that's enough for small transactions
raids used to be "go beat up this unfathomably powerful being and save the world"
but now they're being turned into "haha big company money scheme"
:(
Ok but you don't keep in mind that the colossus technically malfunctions over and over and over every time you run tcc
Since all you are doing is "reseting" it
As an in lore reason for why the raid is repeatable or something stupid

There are plenty of lore issues
Bigger than silverbull making a profit off things
||Aledar|| died for this
Silverbull be like: ah yes, making people walk into rooms and open random boxes and letting them keep everything is a very lucrative business indeed
How about we pay these people our life savings!
Ohh, this is gonna make us rich
lootrunning is probably some kind of money laundering
That’s fun
So uhh, can I join the REAL buisness
That would actually be a cool quest where u help silverbull cary out the real business and learn that loot runs and raids are just a cover to make the emeralds clean
they secretly run an entertainment industry for an audience to see the deaths of "heroes" and "villains"
Like the arena I run in my school playground!
awesome
I bet 5 bucks on the five year old
Silverbull employees continuously respawning the parasite:
so true...
When are we getting lari vs the silverbull ceo
shhhh thats saved for dern storylines
Real
Silverbull CEO is actually Dernic Beast in disguise
In order to prevent people from entering Dern he decided to distract them with LRs and Raids
Now he can do his weird evil plans in peace
Notice how if you re-arrange the letters in Silverbull Company you get “Dernic Beast company”
wow!
CT should recruit me, I obviously have extreme talent when it comes to story writing
Dm what they actually do
Me, about to save Gavel and defeat the Decay, freeing it's influence from Orphion
Silverbull employee: If you do it with one arm tied behind your back and cast with your non-dominant hand, I'll double your reward because too many people are betting on you to clear this
Lmao
yea i mean, it takes away from a lot of the importance of it imo, especially if you’re doing a silverbull challenge on your first time doing the raid.
maybe there could be something where you have to do the raid by itself before you can do gambits or something
though we haven’t tried beta yet so that might already be a thing
also beta when
Eventually
I mean lorewise it doesn’t make sense but also it’s basically the hard mode of raids that some people asked for, them trying to explain it in universe at all is kind of funny considering outside of like FF14, no MMOs explain why their hardmodes exist
FF14’s lore explanation is that you tell the story of clearing the normal mode of a raid to a bard and that bard is like “That sounds neat but what if also there was a big second dragon and the floor was lava and the boss was holding your family at gunpoint”
yeah true
it would be cool if they had a lore reason for doing the raid again, i think some games have it where you are like, reliving the memory, but idk if that would make much sense for wynn.
but either way it’ll be super cool so it’s not really a big deal lol
@wet spire when are we getting the testicular torsion modifier for raids
testicular torsion WHEN
i think the solution to this we'll end up coming to is having a story mode version of each raid that can be done solo
even before 2.1, you end up running raids over and over again
yeah that’s true
wait solo raids? that would be sick, but i can see it happening with the difficulty of a raid being able to change now
it wouldnt give you rewards
yea that’s fair
it'd be a one time thing to be able to complete the story without needing to interact with other players
that’d be very cool
That’s what they did for looting. U have to complete every cave in area before being able to looting
yea true
I am perfectly happy with this
I would love to just do a normal raid by myself
Raid? By myself? i would die in 2 seconds
