#Tome slot reqs

Here’s my feedback on the tome slot requirements after having unlocked the tome slots on two of my classes.

Most of the time slot requirements are actually not that bad. Things like prof levels, killing mobs, completing loot runs, completing raids and even warring are requirements I think are great as the requirements you’re grinding for actually benefit you and make use of the tomes you’re trying to unlock.

The requirements I do have a problem with are the ones where you have to engage in non-repeatable and preferably one time style content like quests and discoveries. For your first play through, you’ve likely done most if not all of the available quests and maybe a good chunk of secret discoveries. Though an argument could be made for secret discoveries being a requirement for a tome slot, I don’t think quests (especially 50 unspecific ones) should be a requirement for a tome slot after your first play through on a class.

As for an alternative, here’s one I thought up:

A higher unspecific quest requirement (current quest requirement per class is 50) on one class to unlock that tome slot for your whole account as opposed to 50 per class. This would encourage the player to experience a very good portion of the quest-line while also cutting the total quests required and dull repetitiveness for a more experienced player who intends to fully utilize all 5 (10 if you count cosmetic) classes.
The same principle could be applied to the secret discoveries (currently requires 25 per class) as well.

i feel that having a tome slot be open across all classes would defeat the point of tome slots being individual to classes

#

plus keep in mind that mini quests will count towards the quest tome slot count

#

if you plan on doing the total lvl 300 tome slot it is likely that you will have mats to complete the proffing mini quests

#

i agree that the 50 quest slot can be tedious but i doubt this is the right solution

I used to myself before I had champ

#

And you can buy prof bombs in game

the idea of buying something with ingame currency doesnt magically uncouple it from being p2w tho

#

but ill let you cook

and i think a lot of people would still think its pay 2 win even with the ingame currency aspect of it.

#

even though you might, im just trying to show you the other side to it.

i kinda like this idea ngl, tome slots are such an annoying hoop to jump thru every time you level a new class and dont wanna replay the same content youve already done

yeah, total lvl 300 slot sucks balls, it should either just not exist or be account wide so doing it once unlocks it for every future class (once you hit the combat lvl 80 req it also has)

#

I don't care if it only takes 1.5 hours without bombs, that's 1.5 hours of nothing on every single class

also what is the p2w angle of this? i dont understand

champ = bomb bell = easier proffa I think

spark dagger
#

oh

#

well its like that anyways why is it more p2w when you have to do it only once vs doing it 5 times

#

having champion gives you an advantage for a lot of things objectively i dont know if having prof bell relative to a guild tome slot is anything thats worth noting as overstepping the line though

#

you could always be early EULA pilled and say nobody should have an advantage thru their wallet but wynn would have a consierably shorter shelf life if that were the case I dont mind somebody having a marginally easier time leveling profs cuz they paid like 100+ bucks for it 😭

#

i fucking hope they get some return on that expense
