It's annoying to have the quest start without my input while I'm going down a road that's used on other quests, like Clearing the Camps. The hook is fine, but I don't think it should automatically start the quest. Have the meteor go sailing overhead, but don't have the quest start until you actually visit the crash site.

Or a loud “Thum” sound and text box playing when it lands telling the player “Hmm something interesting happened I should look!”
That way a newbie still has the idea to check it out while a more experienced player doesn’t have a quest start on it’s own
Because it’s annoying seeing unfinished quests in the log and Star Thief really isn’t worth it

I made this exact suggestion a while ago, I think ct plans to rework the quest so I don’t think they’ll implement any changes for now
