#Keeping % the same when changing stats

it would be nice to have but confirmed impossible :/
you have two choices: +3 fruma quests or abso roll stability
idr sorry :/
I dont think its been confirmed impossible. But I doubt it’s gonna happen
It sucks, but at the very least it's not that bad if they change a terrible stat as well uk
Such as thorns
I agree with the feedback though so take the
agree that rolls should carry over, and agree that as people have mentioned, current system needs a whole bunch of dev work for this to be possible.
However I do not agree that just because it needs dev work, means it can go unsaid or should be ignored by the community, so +1 from me.
yea i agree
there is no way ur item gets fucked over 💀
While they already said this was really difficult for them to make it so the % remains in situations like this, this change is super necessary. It's pretty frustrating to see mythics you bought in the past have their value annihilated because of an update.
Some mythics actually got upgraded because of the change (supposedly), where they had bad water damage rolls turning into good healing efficiency rolls, but the problem comes from people usually not keeping those mythics around. If Water Damage is an important roll, like on Absolution, nobody is gonna keep a 70% (out of 260) water damage absol unless they knew the update was coming.
Unfortunately, a CT already said that the devs consider this a 'relatively minor thing, and a waste of time in the grand scheme' for them to code in. Hopefully, they just don't push any changes like this (rerolling a stat) until they have the system in place.
The other parts of the update were really good though. I like more healing, because it gives more incentive towards teamwork rather than everybody going full dps 😭
Impossible
||*without dev time||
the ct just not pushing any updates requiring stat changes is just not a solution xd
It's not. It's probably the best case scenario, though, considering they said it's a waste of time.
not updating items is best case scenario?
I mean, if they're really just unable to, I'd rather they not make any big changes like rerolling a stat
Not updating items entirely, changing their stats requiring a reroll, like water damage -> healing efficiency
Not life steal -> more lifesteal. yk?
yeah it sucks that some peoples items tanked in values but unless devs can be persuaded to make this tool possible there is no other option
Yeah, so they probably shouldn't make any changes like that until they have the system in place.
afaik there are no plans to implement such a system
so they should just not add any new stats to items??
Not new stats, changes to pre-existing stats. Like water damage -> healing efficiency.
Because it requires a reroll, it completely changes the value of the mythic.
Like if Fatal is converted from 1/5ms to 3-8(?), it won't completely change a Fatal's value (other than maybe making it more expensive?). But if 250% water damage is turned to 35% Healing Effectiveness, its value has directly gone down.
well i cant think of many situations where they would need to make such changes to pre-existing stats (which is probably why the devs felt it was not a good use of item)
Probably why they do consider it a waste of time. I imagine they won't make any big changes like this for a while, unless they're super necessary.
The only changes I know of that are coming soon pertain to mythics that have, like 1/5 MR or -1 spell cost getting fixed to base 5, like inferno, grimtrap, epoch
(guardian and fatal already got their stats fixed)
I believe the explanation was that all of an item’s rolls (current and if any new ids get added) are based on a hidden value that gets set when the item is rolled. In order for a specific new ID to have the same roll value as some specific old ID, they would have to completely overhaul the way item IDs are rolled and ALSO find a way to preserve the ids of every existing item in the game
At least that’s how I interpret this message
If any CTs want to confirm this (or tell me I’m completely wrong) that’d be cool
it is correct
this is true yes
we do generally avoid adding stats to high value items but at the end of the day changes do need to happen at times and we aren't gonna let market value concerns run roughshod over game balance
