#Balance lootrunning across classes

One idea is to add a pull multiplier for worse classes. Get some stats first by tracking pulls/minute spent. The best is probably warrior, so warriors gets 1x pulls. Everyone else gets an adjusted pull multiplier greater than 1. This way everyone can lootrun with their favorite class without feeling like they're inefficient/missing out by not using warrior.

Key point is not how to balance but rather if we should balance lootrunning across classes at all. Please let me know your thoughts or suggestions on alternative ways.

Dear @north token

Thank you for sharing your idea on adding a pull multiplier for classes in lootrunning. While I appreciate the effort to promote diversity in class choices, I have some reservations about implementing such a system.

The concept of the "best class" for lootrunning being subjective is indeed valid, as it depends on various factors such as the camp, challenge, circumstance, and player preferences. Introducing a pull multiplier for different classes might create a more level playing field, but it also raises concerns.

Firstly, the proposed system could lead to unintended consequences, making it less viable to lootrun on what is currently considered the "best class." The potential for a massive improvement for relatively niche power differences might discourage players from choosing the most effective class for a given situation.

Moreover, maintaining balance in a dynamic gaming environment is a significant challenge. The continuously changing metas, new powerful builds, and the release of items would necessitate frequent adjustments to the scaling, posing potential complications for both developers and players.

Rather than implementing a pull multiplier system, perhaps exploring alternative ways to encourage class diversity and balance could be considered. This might involve introducing incentives or bonuses for using different classes, fostering a more organic shift in player preferences without directly impacting efficiency.

Thank you again for initiating this discussion, and I look forward to hearing more thoughts and suggestions on alternative approaches to promoting diversity in lootrunning.

Best regards,

Tealycraft

I honestly think it's a pretty good idea*** to make the other classes more viable for lootrunning, but I don't think the execution of just giving warrior less pulls compared to the other classes would work too well. My primary issue when I'm using the other classes is that their movement spells are pretty poor compared to Charge, so I think this problem could partially be rectified with more alternative movement methods rather than just your movement spell

#

Like the fling clouds in Ahmsord are pretty cool 😃

Alternatively you can add more / buff the current movement affecting items for the other classes. Propelllor hat for example

#

reworking movement spells is probably out of the question

#

so things like the clouds are really great

Something like more void holes in SE could be cool

i think its just movement, right? pretty sure all classes can deal with the challenges just fine. in which case just more movement options solve the issue.
there is something to be said about sky islands, but every class struggles there

i feel like it’s better to just make all the classes better or just nerf warrior to the ground 🙏

There is a huge difference between "classes aren't supposed to be all useful and viable for the same thing" and "a class is only useful and viable for one thing"

#

and shaman is quite solidly in the latter

as someone who actually lootruns in shaman, i am laughing

I see u slandering shaman every day man agagagagagagag go use shaman and prove yourself wrong >:(

#

Wa wa wa shaman isn't great for TNA except there are niche playstyles that are like mask throw geocentrism in the boss and it dominates the other rooms with mobs

spring kiln
#

i'd argue i use it too much

#

that's more than half my total playtime

#

and doesn't even include the other shaman character i have that's specifically for grinding

charred brook
#

Then what are you saying 😭

spring kiln
#

i'm saying shaman sucks and in a big way

#

i get more enjoyment out of my 580-hour mage than all my hours in shaman

#

it has better utility and is more effective in more of the game's content

#

the only thing shaman has over mage is heal cap, and that's getting patched

#

Using shaman is playing the game in hard mode but not the fun kind. You take far more risks but the reward is only on par at best and usually it's worse
