fr thoe I would like feedback if people think the hard melee is too hard to deal with outside of camping the wall
it is still a slight buff to the nameless, but if its too much I can reduce the range down a little
just tested new greg, hard melee is not a thing im worried about with my playstyle
all i need to test now is idol chargespam and if that works im not affected at all

the melee doesnt trigger by camping the wall yee
its a genearl buff, so that if you are within his arms or hitbox u get hit by him
whereas before he would only hit u if u were the same distance away as if he were a zombie
so basically inside his body

yee the idea behind the stats was that 3k isnt too much with high defs and hp, and I want to avoid issues of being able to just perma tank the nameless easily. I felt 2% max hp was too much so 1% +2% current hp seemed to workout as helping deal with with that

I’ve noticed (primarily on Guardian screamsurf) that it doesn’t feel like the bombs do the full 10% max hp damage listed on the wiki
Is this because it’s reduced by range or does defense work on those? If the latter, does that apply to greg melee as well?
the knock back was done for a few reasons.
1: it helps stop camping. Camping is hard when u are literally being chucked out of the spot.
2: The nameless has always been a high movement fight, I originally had a spells for the nameless that knocked players in the air into like a vortex, but there was no way to doge it and it was annoying like pull spell. Having a knock up, so u dont just get pushed into the holes, and also having it be dodgeable cuz its a melee attack helps fill that role imo.
3: it kinda feels right lol. nameless is a big boy and he would chuck u with his arms.
4: it helps kinda nerf his damage as he cant just keep charging into u doing damage after damage if u arnt fast enough. He kinda knocks the player out of his range

I play high defense builds and it hasn't been an issue for me anywhere except the tna in boats runs (which grapz linked a video of)
it can 2 shot hypertanks without good telegraph that it's coming
the average hypertank has 20k hp
The telegraph is taking 3k damage
you have like 3 seconds to move
and 0.5s later death

The only time that spell has caused people issues that I have seen is when they are walling
and it triggers and all the rings get stacked on them while they are on the wall
If you're playing tanky, you get a good 2 seconds to realize what's going on and move
It's the only attack which should be causing the crunch sound so it's really obvious as well
if you are etw you shouldnt be hit by greg in the first place

Perhaps part of the issue is that watched phase is largely non-interactive
20 seconds really isn't all that much time to add to a run, but it feels terrible to wait through because there's nothing you can really do in it
(I think this still somewhat applies to the void matter room because you're forced to do one continuous thing for a while, but this is already being worked on)

every 10% HP he gets a different set of spells
and at 75% 50% 25% he does the watched
but it only checks the % after a spell cooldown
so like he does a spell has a 5 second cooldown then chekcs the %
and at the start of the fight he has 4 seconds of not casting a spell
so if u kill him in that time he wont even be able to check if his hp has gone down
I want to find a way to make it so the second he is at 75% hp for example he does the watched

and I do agree that the watched should be changed but like
its flow was meant for when greg was to be a long fight
when greg is a long fight the watched is a little break
when u are killing greg so quickly the watched feels too slow

Watched definitely does feel a lot better in longer fights, but the general dps demands in the challenge rooms means that usually the fight usually still goes pretty fast unless you're the last one alive

so we really were not sure how the AT would effect the nameless

I dont really think the challange rooms, outside of the 1 room waiting for the waves, need much changes
Challenge rooms are all pretty alright except for void matter (this is the dps check one because things get bad if you can't kill the despairing crawler fast enough and don't have high aoe)
Soul shrubs feel a bit punishing to archetypes like boltslinger, but that's not really a room design issue
The soul shrubs would be less of an issue if people also understood the rooms mechanics well enough to cooperate better

Beyond the issue of wave times, the largest nuisance I encounter in the room is the despairing crawler (and the dendrite drifter as well, but that one isn't as big of an issue) not having knockback immunity
You can't really use abilities which have a side effect of moving enemies without causing an issue for the rest of your team
like 325 thunder, 250 water and 175 air

Boundless set is really cool but Fractal is the only weapon with interesting IDs, and shaman isn't very good for greg so no one really uses the set
I'm a fan of 2/3 boundless set giving 51% walk speed though, but I haven't found a use for it yet
tbf the whole lootpool of greg has kinda been deflated to a point of no return with the exception of like aleph null maybe

I dont think the boss is too easy, if you are using not super obtimized for the boss weapons its pretty hard
look at people playing it early on
