#The Void and its (great) unused design
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
Although the "gray skin" comment in the Ragni Library is really old
Old enough that the design of Olms probably weren't even conceptualized at that point
Olm?
Yeah?
Gray skin and all
Idk what that means
This is truly a bruh moment
Olm are like half of Wynncraft's lore what the hell
I don't have the mental capacity to summarize literally 90% of the main lore I'll be back later
@warm pulsar Okay quick question
Have you been to Time Valley
Oh like years ago so basically no I don’t remember almost anything
That doesn’t mean I know all the lore of SE tho
I think I got the tldr of that area tho
One last question
Have you noticed a really, really tiny possibly unnoticeable obscure pinprick on the map labelled "Ruined Olmic City" whose towering buildings cover a literal third of the valley
Okay how the hell do I start this
The Olm are directly or at least partly responsible for the creation of the WynnExcavation Crystals, a quartet of all-powerful artifacts that they used to escape the Realm of Dern
The Olms hide the crystals all around the world, some of them fleeing to the Dernel Jungle and setting up the Ancient City
The Olms are like, one of the ancient civilizations
I was wondering why the hell you haven't mentioned them when talking about the Colossus
I thought tldr DB showed up and stole their sole but gave them peace
Wot
I thought olmic guys were also immortal like the elves but something about the souls I forget
Where does it ever say that they were immortal
R they not?
That doesnt answer the question
Like the grey guys we see in lutho?
Where in-game does it say that they were immortal
I thought it was when you are forced to talk to that one I think at the end of a journey beyond or something
We didn't talk to anyone at the end of A Journey Beyond
How the hell did you manage to gaslight yourself into thinking half the lore you made up is canon
Where do you learn what happened to the citizens I can’t remember where I read it? Maybe the secret discovery that gives the bracelet that gives a lot of intelligence
It’s cause half the time I’m doing something for an item and half reading the quest/lore but I try to remember stuff that sounds cool
those are humans
Like fruma humans?
Those are... the miners
all humans are from fruma
the ones in question were Wynnic miners
the olm aren’t immortal
we literally see one die in that one time valley cave
Anyways I'm pretty sure the only Olm we know that is alive is like
Garoth
I thought it said something like “we eventually gave up against the fight from the DB or something like that, then it takes their soul and they talk about peace or something” I just kinda equated that to immortality
Wait is Garoth the last Olm
That's kinda sad
tempo town mysterious merchant
I wanted to mention that but it wasn't really outright confirmed
Also if Olm didn’t make the abandon mines how did they leave the SE area?
They have their ways
Like wouldn’t they be locked in by the mountain or something
Idk magic
Maybe they blocked it off after they left
also is the old dude who lives in time valley an olm?
Probably idk
Why do the humans in Wynn know magic?
Because humans are naturally magical?
I thought this was obvious
They have mana
How is it “secret” in fruma then?
I’d assume if the queen was the only one who “knew” magic, how did some random ass soldier they got rid of know it
I swear to god 90% of your questions can be solved with "Play the damn game"
Because this was all explained head-on in the quests
It doesn’t make sense to me unless there are like 8 different magic systems
It's just magic
How is Wynn magic different from fruma magic?
bro buuns if you have questions about the game play it first
all of your questions are answered in quests, discoveries, raids, and caves
It isn't I assume
It seemed to be described to be “different”
it’s not
Please give us a source for everything you just stated
So how tf is bob able to “learn” the magic that fruma keeps so secret
Because like
A lot of the things you thought were canon literally never appeared or were confirmed anywhere
^
You have a really skewed vision of Wynncraft's lore man
I took this as bobs spells and fruma spells/ magic are different
Again
How do we know that it's different
We've never seen Fruma magic
Idk I’m taking his word for it?
Whose word
Earthbrine
bob’s spells are just the player’s spells but beefed up
Yes when I asked if that was “fruma magic” I took the “no” as the answer to that
it’s just magic
When I say “fruma magic” I’m just trying to say “the power the queen uses”
Not after I get a level 30 class he isn't
Why doesn’t Garoth just close the door to the Sanctum? Is he stupid? /s
Crosier virus
@warm pulsar don't you think you've derailed this thread hard enough
@warm pulsar play on your hic assassin, pay attention to the quests and discoveries you complete
We were just discussing lore stuff
Talking about stuff unrelated to the feedback thread happens all the time anyway
Anyways the thread question for the Ahms void (or whatever the hell that place is called) has already been answered technically so
No
I would but that shit is scary + I’m semi lost for what to craft at lvl 40- beyond
Viking stones and ice fish net webs thingies
Ty
https://youtu.be/TKpLmYuhC0I?si=VuLgOJSkHPuP7jR2 something like I assumed when they lost their souls/eyes they became immortal
But hey, that's just a theory, a GAME THEORY, thanks for watching :)

idk about immortal, but their body is a lifeless husk, controlled by the obelisk, while their soul still remains in "happy lutho"
Oh also you guys are saying all magic is the same magic, as in like the magic the elves use is the same as Wynn magic?
They are, in fact
So like can their body die while their sole is still “in” / “controlled” by the obelisk
Not immortal, and also not impervious
Their bodies, unknown to their soul, are taken from Lutho sometimes and mutated by That Which Coalesces, as seen with the Mutated/Aberrated Lutho Citizen mobs and the cave's description
How are people getting to lutho to take the citizens I thought “we” as in the player only recently opened the path to lutho
A common misconception is that Happy Lutho was what Lutho used to look like, but this isn't true. Lutho has always been a shit hole and always will be
And it's not a person taking the citizens, its a creature of Darkness
Like the eye forest has always been there?
named That Which Coalesces
That’s the slime cave thing right? With the giant?
How does it have the power to leave lutho? And why don’t we see it anywhere else then?
As far as I’m aware*
Also is there like a “reason” the portal to Dern is where is it? Like RoL portal was at the “old tree guardian” (I still don’t fully understand why killing a tree opened the RoL) but what was special about olmic/lutho area that made the DB claim that area?
what
what the fuck are you talking about
its a creature of darkness
its not from lutho, and theres nothing stopping anyone who has control over their body to leave lutho. You enter and leave lutho all the time
Aledar enters and leaves lutho. The only reason everybody is there because its the only safe place in the entire silent expanse
By “taken from lutho” I interpreted that as “moved out of the SE area”
If everything is just happening in SE tho that would make sense
Didn't the portal appear in SE because of the olms messing around with the crystal(?)
I don't completely remember
Crystal? Like similar type of crystal in the void by sky islands?
like
Also ty for everyone answering my question, obviously I’ve missed a big chunk of the lore. Tbh it’s just hard to find direct answers to some of these questions, it’s not like a general google search is gonna know about the specific of wynncraft lore and reading the wiki is like searching through 80 different text boxes to just to find the “interesting” or “important” parts
the ones that wynnex was messing with
something something the olm messed with the crystal and caused a disaster of some kind
but idr what it is exactly
oh nvm
Is this like the same crystals that the Wynn mining sight stuff is about?
Oh so we don’t know why the portal formed?
it occured at the same time as the light portal. The light portal forming was the catalyst for the dern portal to form
its just we dont know why it formed in SE specifically ig(?)
I’m confused if they original inhabitants are alive today how are they not “immortal”?
However, one Olm named Garoth was stubborn and chose to stay in Time Valley, essentially forming a pocket dimension that is immune to the passage of time, known as the Timelost Sanctum. Garoth still resides within the sanctum to the present day.
maybe the others were kept alive somehow as a result of the crystal's power(?)
Or did the dern portal and the RoL not open at the same time?
they did
Ok that currently it’s like 1000 AP right? Or sometimes like that
Does that mean Olm got screwed when the elves became immortal?
basically when the portal to realm of light was opened, it caused a disturbance among the planes of influence. during this time, the realm of war (nether portal) in wynn was opened, and the portal to dern was opened in SE
I still don’t fully understand the lore, why did killing the old tree guardian open the realm of light? Like how were the elves even able to do it?
Shrug
@muted cedar can you back up my lore knowledge? I am pretty sure this is correct just not positive
yea basically
Ok cool
no
not called the nether portal
I know. Was using for clarity
however yes, one portal opening causes a chain reaction that opens the others

I guess the concept just doesn’t make sense to me, if it was a battle from beyond time it’s self what happened to change the balance of that? Why is some tree dying able to tip the scale of cosmic balance?
Shrug
Aaaah
Two worlds / planes / universes just had a passage between them opened. That is a big disturbance and some uga uga physics made other portals also open.
Other question that didn’t get answered, people are saying the “magic” in Wynn is all the same, does that mean of an elf could potentially learn the “magic” that fruma uses?
yes
and vice versa
lighbender mage moment
Wait how does That Which Coalesces come into this
The game gives no indication about it beyond just a random miniboss mob in a cave
except it does
in the content book you are given a description of the cave
Can you remind me what it was again
Wanderers out of Lutho are taken and changed at [879, 79, -803], where sickness and toxicity are coalesced.
I mean, we do know that
The game just hasn’t explained why that’s the case yet
Charged?
Also maybe the idea could be gotten across visual if we actually saw a single Lutho person near there
Wait I misread changed sorry lol
Is that which Condenses perhaps related to TNA in any way
It’s the only Void-themed region further away from the rest
Did TNA get drunk one day and decided to snipe a spot like two miles away
Otherworldly Occurrence secret discovery
Yeah those things don’t spawn near there
From my experience nothing spawns in that massive area outside of Lutho at the North side
Oh right and that too yeah nvm
Nothing spawns there for the sake of not having a second Olux
But Eyeball Forest
what about it
Mobs are constantly seen hugging the Lutho walls
Mobs don't spawn at the eyeball entrance to Lutho either, there's a big safe area
Strange
Yeah because they run all the way over following players run to Lutho
Would be the same in toxic wastes if the mobs there had the detection range that blinders do
Blinders literally spawn and instantly aggro on you
I've never seen, without vanish or invis, a blinder that is not running at a target
I gotta be honest time is a finicky thing in media
You could have a place “beyond time” or smth and stuff and creatures within it could still perceive some passage of time
Hell, the whole concept of Void Islands is contradictory in of itself for the sake of gameplay reasons
We don’t actually know how the player perceives the void through their own eyes in-lore
Yeah, first thing I noticed when I first entered SE
I am also really disappointed in Buuns calling the entire valley Lutho
They said that they have several classes who have been in that place
As for the portal opening thing
I guess we just have to accept all the funny stuff for now
”We have 0 explanation of why this is this but it’s happening I guess”
no way guys we have 0 explanation in the story about a plot hook that will be explained later to provide context for previous events this is utterly bonkers ....
other stories would never do this books and movies would never do this
I mean can you blame people for theorizing about that. As in my original comment about maybe the ??? Meteors having more importance than we might think
Peak of modern cominucation.
Given that I said “for now” I think I am very aware of this fact
I know, it was directed at a certain someone who was complaining about it earlier
I see
Jesus christ
Bro opens up a math textbook, only knows numbers up to 6, and postulates that the numbers 7 8 9 are actually graffiti marks that other students before them scribbled in
?
when half the lore is hidden by secret discoveries ur really gonna be that snobby
then the other half is "waiting to be explained"
hey buuns
come back once you’ve done every quest, every discovery, every cave, every dungeon, every raid, every boss altar, every world event, read every sign, talked to every npc, read finding meaning, and read every item’s lore
at least once
if by then you still think a lot of things are unexplained
then we can have an educated discussion
All lore is explained ingame
Everything on the wiki is based off ingame content, not speculations or stuff said from ct (except very few cases)
That was kinda in reference to my question about the colossus and the portals opening, I need to spend a day looking over the wiki again but when you have to dig through tons of semi useless dialogue to get the answer to ur question, it can feel very bloated
bro
like I said
just play the game
all of the answers are in there
reading the wiki will not allow you to understand the lore
Literally just Google how to find secret discoveries like bruh
U don't have to find them urself just follow some youtube videos instructions and explore the world
To be honest some questions are directly answered in quest dialogue
You hear very clearly in The Envoy PT2 why the Corkus mechs were hostile
