personaly i would never torture myself by lootruning on shaman
I think lootrunning should be fun and possible on all classes, or it missing the mark with being acessible
Sadly some people think too low of themselves to play a good class so they play Shaman

Loot chests (normal ones, not challenge) are supposed to scale on time but they are not scaling on time. Top one untouched for 3 days, bottom untouched for 1 day. Same loot, same LB (both discoverer only, 199 lb). Can be replicated across hundreds of chests
all of this for highest reward being 5 fucking LE

i got more mythics from regular loot chests during lootrun than i did from lootrun end chest this update

to be fair they could’ve been overnerfed and I wouldn’t know because I haven’t tried the nerfed lootruns yet but it’s still funny nonetheless

Well they quite drastically nerfed multiple things, and that compounds to a lot of nerfs and probably overnerfing

Although I never thought cheaper mythics are that bad personally, I see why people don't like it due to economy reasons. I likewise don't mind that much that mythics have been made rarer.

lootrunning has some issues to it that can't just be fixed by adjusting rates
those issues are Gray and Orange beacon:
- Gray is by far the best beacon choice for getting mythics. A buffed up gray beacon can triple your chances at getting a mythic which is quite insane
- Orange is similarly impactful, to the point where not getting an orange early on makes the run feel very lackluster
so what I'm tryna say is that not getting these beacons offered is a death sentence for your lootrun cuz rates have been balanced around runs where you get these beacons
devs should try to look for ways to make lootruns not terrible when you dont get these beacons offered
Also rainbow is a good run killer. If I don't get rainbow early and the orange I just fail the challenges
i guess rainbow counts too. although it's so rare that I don't really expect it
But a change I propose is to add sublevels to admiral/commander/master (just like rookie/assistant/elite) and give them more perks, such as +1 beacon choice or +1 starting boon. Balance it out by also adding more beacons so that 3 choices doesn't guarantee the beacons you want
I think the beacon nerfs were the best thing they could have done. Rerolls were far too broken
they were, but then they also nerfed mythic rates so without rerolls your run is now extra bad
making grey rarer is fine, but making it not show up after a certain amount of challenges is just weird to me
Although I'd much rather have it be more common but add curses, more consistency but also more risk
like +1 reroll, +1/+2 curse, so that many rerolls also adds a shit ton of curse
might even allow it to show up more than once for those extra greedy ppl
would be really nice for people who wanna do short but very hard runs

Honestly if their was runs that like that are rewarding I would do them but they prob aren't gonna be as awarding as getting 50 boons and then rest curses
a consistent 1 grey beacon per run would be fine if aquas and vibrants didnt exist
adding curses would make vibrant/buffed grey beacons not necessarily be better than normal variants, basically how you wouldn't really want a double aqua buffed vibrant dark grey beacon (unless it's your last challenge)

it has always triggered on fly kick but at least before this patch, I can verify it does very little damage (in the hundreds)

Ik people are talking about rates and beacons, but I fucking beg. PLZ atleast let us know if LR will ever be multiplayer like forgery in the future. Was in vc with friends and we all agreed the new lr system would be extremely fun if allowed to be done in groups. I think it’s a decent idea to get even more “player interaction” in the end game since traditionally LR was a Solo only activity

Idk I really hope someone makes a post about the new emerald amounts, even when half my chests were sniped I’d still get about 4x the emeralds I use to get now. It went from tier 1 chest having 11 emeralds on the low end to tier 4 chest barley having 22 if your lucky compared to sometimes I’d see like a maximum of 4 EB in some older chest.

I just did about 5 runs, out of those 5: only once did I get the option of gray beacon (2 rerolls lol..), and the other 4 times it didn't even appear at all lol
I've given up on lr camps for now, going to wait for an update lol
was there another shadow nerf to aqua beacons that wasnt mentioned? cuz me and 2 other guildies are experiencing the same issue where on later challenges like 25-30+ we cant get 2 aqua's back to back without rerolling even if we have all beacons displaying

Yea, that was happening to me too.. later in the challenges you can only get 1 aqua, even with 6+ beacon choices
like you get 1 aqua, then you dont get the option, then you get an aqua again

Just think of it like this: your efficiency depends on rrs so ifbyou got bad/bormal luck with rr, its propably better to bet on a new run

id think the reason mythics were so common previously is because most runs youd get like 20+ rerolls
which is a huge multiplier on the # of effective rolls being made
debatable cuz look at my run with 2624 effective pulls, i got nothing
well
i had that run cooked before the nerfs and opened the chest after nerfs

for example, in pokemon shiny rates are very known, but that doesnt make it any less special or more predictable when you'll get one

The way pulls work is that it’s not from a table with different chances for each item—I think they’re still doing the physical chest thing where they have a bunch of chests full of types of items and a chest is chosen at random, from which an item is chosen at random

well that’s what someone here is doing, they’re getting data from others and then when we have enough data we will know the rough estimate
that may be your viewpoint, but theres lots of people who dont have that view
same way that happened with pre update, ppl did a bunch of testing and found out you get a mythic every 2-2.5k chests, but again it varies from person to person. some1 can get a mythic on their first lr, sone might get after 50 lrs

adding grind/loot spots to content book is such a good idea though

I have found 2 caves one of which I cant find again (in the sea somewhere). The one I have a picture of is next to a "cave" according to the online map but not the content book. The one Im talking about is around the size of mid caves near ToA in the Lucuco region. It has no chests and it feels like it was forgotten about.

I feel like beacon color weighting is fucked rn, had a run 35 challenges, not 1 single orange beacon, I have an abundant of yellow and purple, I got 4 vibrant aqua and 3 of the times I got yellow and purple after. It feels these low tier beacons are weighted so heavily is very frustrating. I don’t have a direct count but I think I was only offered 4 blues for boons and like over 22 purples for curses. It just feels weighted in a way that feels extremely shitty imo
I honestly wish like after 5 or 10 challenges you get to choose your next color, or get and extra reroll for beacon colors or something. But being forced to choose between purple and yellow for the 9th time in a row in a run felt like ass
Idk it’s like, being able to choose beacon colors would be extremely powerful and I think the 75 challenge runs being able to stack reroll is also op but not getting an orange at all felt awful cause 2 choices between purple and yellow like 8 different times sucks, then to get aqua into only being able to choose yellow or purple again sucks ass

i agree ; this is why a popular suggestion atm is to buff yellow, buff orange chances and/or make it so the player starts with 3 beacon choices (maybe as a lr level reward)
