True! Special vet role that optionally replaces your rank role?
in practice tho i see a few options.
#1 is that, unlike in-game, discord will have to treat it as its own distinct role. In game it's just a cosmetic change to the little rank abbreviation. This isn't a huge deal but let's say there's a hypothetical where all ranked roles are supposed to have something (like access to #vip_room). Because Vet is treated like its own role, there's a possibility that it could be forgotten when giving certain roles access to the channel. This has no stakes and is easily fixable, but its 1 more thing to remember for whoever moderates/edits the server. Bc now you have to create 4 new roles to represent the "vet" versions of the 4 existing ranks (as they correlate to nametag colors). Unless Vet was given 1 role and its own unique color, which i guess could work.
#2 is probably a stronger case, which is just that this cosmetic change isn't even visible 99% of the time. Unlike in game, where it'll show "Vet" anytime you talk, in discord noone will know if you're vet unless they click on your profile and view your roles. That is, ofc, assuming that they color match the 4 Vet-version ranks to the 4 ranks. Again, maybe this is also solved if Vet is given 1 role and its own unique color?
So maybe those issues are only with my assumption of how this would be implemented. I assumed it would be 4 clones of the ranks that are instead called Vet but now that seems to make no sense so 😭
