John's heart started racing as he remembered--he remembered--he had been wrapped in a spider web, about to be eaten...was he still there? Did this mean that everything about the doodablues were just part of his mind, while his body was still trapped?

They came into a long white hallway lit harshly lit with bright fluorescent (or whatever the alien equivalent was) lights. On the wall was a mess of wires, buttons, and panels. The elder doodablue opened a compartment and pulled out a toolbox, then chirruped, "Good luck!" before disappearing.

He spent a couple of hours looking at the wiring and gears, but he soon realized that he would barely be scratching the surface of the panel.

He would have to find it himself, he supposed. Opening the map, he saw that it was divided into large sections delineating different functions. Stretching across them were colorful lines, which John assumed were similar to subway tracks.

He continued punching the giant wall of ice once more, chipping away at the surface. Then the realization hit him. There was something beyond the wall. The wall was not a cage to hold him back, but instead a gate waiting to be opened. Again, he punches the wall. Another dent. It wasnt enough, not yet, not even close, but John knew he had to break through the wall. He continues to punch the ice. More dents, yet the wall remains unyielding. He had to make his father proud, and yet prouder, he thought. If only he could make it beyond the wall, he thought, maybe then he would finally be what his father saw in him: a capable man(and maybe future king???). Again he remembers the night he left: when he thought he was lesser than his sister Sarah, when his father proved otherwise. He must break through the wall.

How much time had passed? Days, months, years blurred by...And yet he clung onto the memory of his father. He didn't know if it truly existed, but....wasn't it time to try? Wasn't that the marker of a true hero?

More time passes by, and he continues punching the wall. A layer of ice has been chiselled away, and he is one step closer to reaching the other side. The flame burns brighter than ever(in his heart). He continues yet again, chipping away at the wall of ice.

John reached his arm out to this light, this blue star pulsating in his hands… But for what it is, despite the amount of energy that can be felt from it, this mote of light is cold, even colder than all the frost he punched through.

With a few quick deductions, he came to a conclusion: the doodablues were suddenly violent because

This was new, a new sensation as he brought the heart closer to his chest; the hearts true home resonating with longing. Slowly, he continued to move it closer, the heart forcing him to continue as it forces it's way into his chest. Finding it's way to it's long lost home. Finally, he had found what he knew what was missing for so long.

“We should be thanking you, for helping us.” The doodablues said. The mist faded away, and John was back on the moon.(it was a dream?) He could understand them again, John realized. And it turns out that in his trance(TRANCE?!) like state, John had actually fixed the moon!!!
