yoooo
literally anything other than the current tomfuckery goin' on in #🌎wynncraft
hmmmm
I think that really depends on what you expect to get out of 'em
if you're lookin' to make a quick buck, GXP and LQ armor pieces are all the rage, I think --- that, and 3-star Dernic minin' mats in general sell for a fortune
if you're lookin' to actually get something useful for yourself that isn't More Emeralds™️, I'd recommend cookin'
has a wide variety of good ingredients, all the results last ages, and is generally just Objectively Better Alchemism
Should I do like fishing and stuff if I also want to get accessories?
Wait that’s just every single gathering proff
Alright I’ll probably do mining, woodcutting, and fishing in that order so I can get some things that would be useful
Thomas what class do you specifically proff on?
I prof on my mage just because
it's the class I started with ages ago
it's been my main class, like. forever
And do tell me if I’m asking too many questions I don’t want to be rude
Yeah mages are really cool
as for the questions, I don't mind at all!
it's nice to be able to have a proper conversation instead of just seein' 50 gorillion messages per tick in #🌎wynncraft whenever people get antsy over something
not any of them at the minute, really
simply because I don't have 'em at high enough level to warrant pursuin' them yet
Ah aight
Alchemism interests me, because what good is food if you don't have something to wash it down with?
Scribing is also a potential field of interest because AoE buffs go brrrr, though not as high-potential as the other two consumable profs
as for actual equipment profs, the only one I really care about to any extent is Jeweling
and that's because I can make three different kinds of item with the same general recipe
I hear they’re really good in raids and other team based activities
yeah!
scrolls are really good for team-based activities like raids and wars
if you're on your own, though, food or drink will work better in the vast majority of cases
since the only major advantage scrolls possess over food or drink is the ability to apply the buff to a group
the duration is, if memory serves, equal to a potion otherwise? I'd have to check
Imagine being a boss and seeing a random Wynnic soldier and their buddies outside of your boss room just eating a full meal with a bit of light reading with friends
I think scrolls are usually long
I don't remember the exact comparison
I’ve seen them go to around 1300 to 1500
Maybe a bit higher
I forgot how high potion dura goes
ok, yeah, scroll and potion durations are equal
also! another neat thing about scrolls compared to potions or food
scribin' ingredients (almost) never have detrimental IDs of any kind
mhm! since they're a group buff, the importance of not kneecappin' the user is substantially higher
I hear Adventurer diaries are a really good scribing ingredient
Crippling the rest of your teammates speedrun
fun fact: there is a scribin' ingredient with a negative ID
Gelatinous Slime Chunks have a 2 to 4% walk speed cut and can be used for all three consumable profs
there are a few others with negative IDs --- virtually all also usable for at least one other craft type --- but the slime chunks are just funny
because you can make everybody slow
Breaking the team’s legs
and Gelatinous Slime Chunks boost duration a bunch, too
so everyone moves slower for an egregious amount of time
Alright
it's quite funny
What other activities do you do besides Proffs and Cooking?
I generally run TNA a bunch every so often
been tryin' to get my hands on a perfect Charm of the Void for a while
current one comes fairly close, but
Damn that’s pretty good
"close enough" isn't good enough for me
it is!
it's basically free sprint stats because the damage taken increase is negligible with good rolls
4% is the minimum on damage taken, with 16% bein' the max
sprint stats range from 6% to 26% each
Have you been getting some good tomes?
it took me
a disproportionately long time
to get a second Athletic weapon tome from TNA
Yeah Tome grinding takes forever
I got the first one like instantly and then spent ages tryin' to get another
I have one now, at least, and I also have all the other t3 tome types
Do you use the Air Damage Armour Tomes?
so now the main reasons I run TNA are just
the charm and the actual emerald payout
I don't!
Woah
I could probably use them if I wanted to, but
What armor tomes do you use?
Don’t feel like grinding TCC?
Personally TCC wasn’t the worst, not the best but it was ok
as for what armor tomes I use
Nexus of Light though
Oceanic
I ran TCC way too many times gettin' just the one mythic tome for my mage
Not even like Abyssal
and it's not even an ele defense I care about to boot
nope
I think Abyssal is mythic water for weapon tomes?
yep, it's the weapon tome water mythic
armor tomes get Oceanic instead
anyway, yeah. this is the one (1) mythic armor tome my mage has
I swear I spent like a week gettin' it
True
Honestly now that I look at it Armour tomes are kinda bad
they're extremely good because of the base stat they give
20% DR alone (full fabled) makes a world of difference effective health wise
Sorcerers and Destructives are pretty good
32% DR (full mythic) is even better
Yeah DR is good most of the Mythics are pretty meh
the larger issue, at least with the mythic armor tomes is, well
the only reason you care about them
is the base stat
the extra IDs generally kinda suck
Mythical Weapon Tome IDs
Mythical Armour Tome IDs
which, for something that's already a rare, soulbound reward from (in my opinion) the most bullshit raid in the game
is not very fun to work with
Oh Mythic tomes do have more dr
yeah
8% on mythic vs. 5% on fabled
the problem is that that's all they really have over fabled tomes
I might just farm the raid for Destructives though, I really really like Main Attack Damage
more health is something you can get from your gear easily, and ele defense boosts are situational at best
the fableds might not give as much DR, but the boosts they give are generally much more widely applicable
as an example:
True
I have this beauty
Have you been getting any good weapon tomes?
God damn
this is a perfect Everlasting
That’s a max roll right there
I have another Everlasting at 71
if I could be bothered to run TCC again, I might've gone for a second
but alas, I did the TCC grind for a mythic armor tome before 2.0 even happened
I have not wanted to run it again in quite some time
I just use Athletic
(fabled w/ +3 AGI)
Aight
technically, Cyclonic (mythic air) would be better for damage, but
Athletic is just more convenient in my case for a number of reasons
The Mythic Tome grind takes forever right?
that's the main one, yeah
as much as I love TNA, mythic tomes aren't exactly what you'd call common
Also you get to enjoy a nice bonus to walk speed (one of the best stats)
oh yeah! I have a Weightless armor tome

Walk speed is such a good stat
it is!
it's one of the reasons I like Warp
I get to go f a s t
mobility, for endgame content, can make or break many a dangerous encounter
the more of it you have, the better off you are (generally, at least; just don't give up the ability to actually live a hit or two, or deal functional damage, in your pursuit of speed)
on occasion, I do LI
it's not the most enjoyable thing, but it's Something™️
I sometimes run the Forgery to try my hand at the funny mythic chance
I avoid lootrunnin' like the plague on Wynn that it is
I tried lootrunning once, it sucks
it's just Not Fun At All™️
Hmm yes I will just walk around, that sounds very fun
it's literally just
you walk around
you click on chests
you don't get a purple box
rinse and repeat
people say gather profs are the same thing, but at least with gather profs
I'm not rollin' a chance less likely than back-to-back mythic armor tomes just to make some money
with gather profs, each node I (successfully) harvest is one step closer to a new craft
with lootrunnin'? it's entirely left up to chance
Proffs are just a time investment and you can use them for more than making the big bucks
you can go thousands of chests without ever gettin' anything of value
I saw someone with like a 10k dry streak once
you can get mythics within a few hundred chests of one another
it is entirely luck-dependent
it is the only reason LQ even exists, or so I'm convinced
it's literally just gather profs but somehow worse
which, given how monotonous gather profs can get, is goddamn impressive
I love NoL
second favorite raid, right behind TNA
most of the rooms encourage teamwork fairly well (resource room...eh, every raid gets one)
Ah I see
they're pretty creative, even if some are pretty annoyin'
the buffs are nice and diverse, with the vast majority not feelin' too overtuned (is Cherubim 3 still god? idk)
the main issue I have with NoL is the shitshow that is Orphion's fight
Personally I despise NoL
the actual raid is lovely. good rooms, good aesthetic, good buffs
...and then you get to Orphion
It looks cool but it is such pain
whose fight is, by no small margin, the biggest clusterfuck in the game
I like the raid overall, though
NotG is too irrelevant, at every stage of the game, for me to have a solid opinion on it
and TCC...is TCC
Personally my least favorite but I get what you mean
Can you recommend any ways to get a mythic? (Mainly because they seem to be really fun and are integral to like a bunch of builds from what I’ve seen)
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I don't recommend lootrunnin'
Forgery runs can be useful for this purpose if you have a surplus of keys (I have, like, 13 or so of each at the moment, so I could if I wanted to)
So should I just make money so I can buy some instead?
generally, gatherin' up the money for a mythic will end up more consistent than tryin' to get the mythic to drop/appear directly
especially since that kind of money grants you a shitload of other options in case you change your mind or see something you like on the journey to affordin' whatever mythic it is
Aight
Yo Thomas
I feel like I'm close to a culinary breakthrough, but I'm not entirely certain
hypothetically, salt on grilled Toxx legs should both improve the flavor and allow the effects to endure a longer period of time
so this should be it
but it still feels like I'm missin'...something
the problem is that I don't know what
Hmmm let me check cooking ingredients real quick
Also did you know Wynnatlas has an ingredient search now?
indeed it is
I do wonder if I could replace one of the servings of salt with a ground Death Whistle leaf
a more expensive approach, to be sure, but it would have substantial benefits compared to two servings of salt
mhm
and I gather them all the time, anyway, since I use Death Whistle leaves in a few other recipes I have in mind as well
they're surprising levels of widely applicable
Does cooking have any reverse ingredients?
not that I can think of
Damn
the closest thing is Festering Faces --- and while two of those can reverse the effects of a single ingredient
they're also not all that friendly towards...well
makin' anything that any reasonable person would ever wanna eat
Contraband Miracle Berries seem really really good for duration if you don’t mind a bit less damage
I'm probably gonna go with one serving of salt and one serving of ground Death Whistle leaf
which leaves me with this
mhm!
the largest issue is undoubtedly gonna be gatherin' up a decent amount of the ingredients
Death Whistle leaves are one thing, but normal salt is a bit harder to come by than I'd like, and gettin' the legs off of a Toxx is something that's...well, far easier said than done
still! this gives me something to work towards
Indeed
Excellent idea for a potion right here
Orange Wybel fur mixed with a bunch of bat flesh and a bit of Gelatin
