Guild Policies
Guild Policies is a system that adds a level of depth to Guilds by allowing guilds to choose Policies, which provide a variety of buffs and debuffs. These buffs can range from very minor buffs (such as slightly increased generation of one resource type), to high-risk high-reward buffs (see below for examples).
Why is this needed? After speaking with a few other prominent guild players, both attackers and defenders, the clear trend they seem to identify is that warring is an extremely formulaic process. Attackers attack certain headquarters connections, then attempt headquarters. Defenders use a loadout (usually 11x4) to prevent attackers from taking important territories. My aim with this suggestion is to alleviate this repetitive formula, and add uniqueness to each war. Giving enemies uniqueness and unknown factors makes it more interesting to fight against them.
The Policies
Policies are split into four distinct categories:
- Offensive
- Defensive
- Holding
- Diplomatic
Your guild can have one policy from each of these categories, allowing each guild a total of four unique policies.
Policies are also split into three distinct tiers, being:
- Unique (Regular Paper)
- Rare (Light Paper)
- Legendary (Dark Paper)
Each of these tiers provide different levels of buffs/debuffs, and offer different tradeoffs for guilds to decide on. Unique policies mainly just give minor buffs with no debuff, whereas Legendary policies provide large buffs that require you to change playstyle.
Getting New Policies
Each day, if your guild takes at least four territories, your guild is given a Policy Pack (green + on the bottom of the GUI), which lets a chief / owner select up to two policies to unlock. The policies in these packs are random, so you could get full Uniques or (extremely rarely) full Legendaries.
Otherwise, that about wraps up this suggestion. I've provided a few examples for different policies below, and shown off the (custom) GUI for the menu.
