That's the fun part
big
If you're wanting the challenge to do the ole 'only use crafted items' for fun, then sure do it. Though that being said... it is a challenge.
I am an enjoyer of grinding wood for hours on end
Same. Not for everyone tho
I've done it to level 20 3 times now, and it's kinda meh and takes too long to draw your focus, but if its fun for you go for it! I bet it can be rewarding later on when you're in mid game and your crafting and resource gathering are also mid game
is there anything that comes around lategame that makes grinding gathering levels faster or is it the same slog the whole way
stuff with gather xp bonus
ah
Or if someone drops a prof bomb
kk i'm gonna try doing it while leveling
yeah absolutely, its meant to be a challenge and definitely is a neat twist on things
I'm not sure if the prof bombs affect the gather or crafting profs or both tho. Gather xp is just for the 4 gathering profs tho
it's like a nuzzlock almost
wym?
you set limits on yourself that stray from the usual gameplay.
ooooh yeah i see
For me it was: "Not allowed to use resources in bank, cant identify items to even sell them, can only craft and sell said crafted items to make emerald"
I can see that. Can't blindly run through the game when doing crafted like you can normally
Much more planning and research
does wynndata have absolutely everything?
yeah thats why i dont personally like ironman, just not for me, i like having the freedom to trade and use whats in my bank lol
I think so. I believe it uses wynncrafts API so as long as wynncraft themselves update it, wynndata should be accurate
I forgot to say one thing that I did find, if you farmed enough inside nivla forest, you can get +12% movement speed on your boots leggins and all your accessories
so 12%x6 movement speed
aka: run faster than max brown horse
Is that with the forest web?
ye
yeah forest web is a neat early material lol
durability cost is low enough that you get around 60-80 durability with it, which is funny enough to just use to run around
I have 4 stacks of it from just farming in my bank
how long does that last you on average
probably 7 runs from ragni to detlas and back
sheesh
each one takes less than a minute
it last a bit longer than that, doesnt it?
I got about 2 stacks of forest web in a half hour using a couple totems. A good amount of spiders spawn near the tree with obsidian spikes.
Good material for leveling crafting
For anyone interested, I used this guide to favorite all the materials in wynntils that I want to keep in bulk for leveling crafting profs. Not sure how outdated it is but I'm sure it's mostly fine https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/crafting-guide-1-103-all-the-materials-and-ingredients-you-need-completed.267977/
what should you do with low tier materials then
I'd either use them as grinding materials, or sell them on the market, its surprising how much money you can get off stuff like tier 1 woods and other materials
anything you want to really make something out of, definitely use tier 2 or higher ^^
tyty
'course, lmk if you have any other questions
you can make an absurd amount of money just using them and then selling them as well
its kinda funny how low level stuff can somehow give you 20 emeralds a piece (unless they changed it)
oh yeah that too, but usually the individual materials sell for quite a bit
you have to also think about how many materials you need to put into each item, and how much those items sell for, compared to how much the individual materials sell for on the market
high level noobs be like "ooo free low level materials. dont need to farm now
"
lol
Seems like the first 3 and the last 3 tiers of materials are what sell for the most. The middle ones no one seems to care about
Or rather the middle ones people probably grind for themselves
yeah
they're easy enough to get to grind yourself, but annoying enough to not sell on the market, because it will barely adjust your profits
why are amulets more expensive than rings in materials
I'm guessing they made rings the cheapest since there's two of those slots. And then they needed different recipes for the bracelet and necklace
and oil is used in a lot of crafting recipes but gems are only for jeweling so that might be why they increased that for bracelets and necklaces instead of oil
@cunning burrow found it on my archer. 70-100 durability
what's the best way to grind tier3 ingredients?
Found what?
Also depends on the ingredient, cause they're all found in specific places
I found a bunch of cool t3 ingredients that drop randomly from regular mobs, and I found that loot bonus improves odds of getting ingredients
so is it a good idea to make magic find stuff relatively early on like potions with lucky spider eggs
Well yeah loot bonus is generally just a good helper all around for finding stuff
Also wym the wording confuses me
Oh yeah totally, thats a solid potion there
