The Harka defence is a GREAT DEFENCE! I will defend with it EVERYWHERE i go! It only costs 870 EMERALDS! That's HALF THE COST of a FILLER DEFENCE (1520 emeralds). But it is as effective as a 22K. We have it on ALL our territories and it kills ALL guilds, including Oce, BLA, TNL, XTS, oxo and Fox. And it is SUPER EASY to defend with. In ONLY 3 clicks can you buy the Harka defence. First, type /gu defend. Press ranger and rightclick 3 times on the level 50 ranger. Then go to witches. Buy 100 level 50 witches. FINALLY do the same for 50 lv 100 clerics and press purchase. Congratulations! YOUR guild will now grow to level 85 in a few weeks.

The INNOVATOR Harka3l came up with this GREAT defence on the 3rd of January, 2020. THAT DAY, everyone who got raided by BCr had to take out a team of 30 WARRERS to get rid of the lv 50 harka defence. BCr got 5 billion xp in ONE HOUR. However, that didn't matter when the guild got disbanded in April of 2020. Harka defence may be great for killing people, but it can't save guilds from being disbanded. Perhaps there is a CURSE with the harka defence that disbands guilds defending with it.

BUT be cautious. It might expand your guild bank, give you 80 guild levels, give you bragging rights and kill NOOBS, but BEWARE! Yur guild might be disbanded.

I think what really made guilds fun in the past is the amount of scheming. And not only just scheming, but the power balance hanging by a thread

Rallying guilds to your side, pitting group against group.

#

I mean, organizing was very important. To really have a claim or be able to go through with something, you needed backing and support, whether that be physical aid or just claim acknowledgement and validation from others.

#

And then there were the mega alliance periods of course, where the law of the land was essentially to be in the ruling alliance and have something or have nothing.

#

But mega alliances were often not stable as people were rarely ever satisfied. The only reason people would settle and tolerate less is because the alternative was having absolutely nothing. Being part of the alliance, you at least get something

#

When in reality, guilds could just rally to overpower whatever order exists. But they comply with the power, as did I. You have to pick your battles.

#

A lot of people argue that mega alliances only benefitted the top guilds within the alliance, with their power and influence being used to justify exorbitant claims, while the rest of the alliance received something and helped them keep power as an alliance to maintain it.

#

But the inverse is also true. A lot of times, there were smaller guilds in which in a real competitive environment would not be capable of holding down a claim actively. A mega alliance gives them the stability to thrive.

#

Mega alliances did benefit guilds, both its ruling powers and its smaller members, however there is a flip side.

#

A good majority ends up settling for less in exchange for stability.

#

You are essentially guaranteed a claim that will be uncontested, as collectively the alliance is very powerful to where they have map domination.

After HackForum’s year long reign ended, since wars were getting fixed and War Syndicate took over, it was the first mega alliance in ages. War Syndicate was a unique alliance. We did not want to repeat the horror of a guild owning the entire map, so we gave off the Wynn province to be untouched so that other guilds could grow and thrive (which would lead to our downfall as an alliance named Coalition would form there and contest us) but we also heavily enforced a max amount of territories. Everyone had an equal claim of 24 territories, and if anyone surpassed that amount, they were promptly attacked.

We enforced our rules on the Wynn province and all ally members had equal claims. Coalition didn’t have equal claims, but we would not allow them to surpass 24, just like us.

Now, this was during a time of fear, so it was different. But equality does not work. Because it wasn’t really equal.

#

Guilds were not able to be compensated fairly for their efforts. The most powerful guild received the same amount of territories as the newest, developing guild, which could hardly stand its ground.

#

Furthermore, territories were not remotely equal at all either.

#

And with a set amount of equal territories for every alliance member, it doesn’t motivate.
